I like it.

Feb 12, 2004 by gpshunter

I saw the 6000 come out, and after trying it for a week let that one pass by, then I saw the 8900 come along, and it lasted two days..I really wanted something that had a better camera, if I was going to do the "camera thing." I also wanted it to be durable, and neither the LG or the Audiovox seemed very much so. I like LG phones, loved my VX4400, but after using the a530 for several months, I knew Samsung really knew how to build a phone. This is a solid phone, and I like the construction, and features.

The lack of an external caller ID, and the size are the only cons I can see. If you want small, this is the last phone you want, but if you like a little more to hang on to, and a great phone and camera, then you will want to check this one out.

Why?

Feb 12, 2004 by Banaboi19

We recieved the phone yesterday in our store... this phone cant compete with the others, ie 6000 or 8900. Seems everyones going smaller and smaller, and this phone is huge, and is very heavy. If you want this phone wait until the price drops...

Pros- Nice Camera

Cons- The rest of the phone, Menu is TERRIBLE, anetenna in the phone will bend if you keep removing and inserting battery...

Not sure of what Samsung was thinking... better luck next time... and they usually make the nicest looking phones... sorry

Not quite as good as i hoped

Feb 15, 2004 by Nansica

I returned my Audiovox 8900 as soon as this phone came out. I HATED the 8900. I hated the design, esp. the outer display, and the sound killed my ears. I've been jealous of Sprint forever because of their sleek swivel phone . . . why is this one for Verizon so much bigger, and uglier??? I mean, its ok but the Sprint one looks way better. I was expecting more from Samsung. The camera is GREAT, and all the voice activated stuff is AWESOME. But everything for me was just not that great. Maybe it's bc I used to have the a307 for Cingular. BEST PHONE IN THE WORLD!!!! I miss that phone so much. The sound, the size, the multicolored light, the full color outer dislay, the games, the menus - even w/ out a camera - that phone is the quality that I was hoping this one would be . . .overall, a good phone, but not up to par w/ Samsung's usual. I mean, if u really want the phone, get it. HOnestly though, I wish I knew about the upcoming motorola . . .

Great Phone

May 30, 2004 by Aikman420

SOLID phone. Great features. No dropped calls, No Low Signals, No bull$hit. The only thing i would like on this phone is an MP3 player. But then again, Why would you need to play music on your cell phone. I was a but skeptical on Samsung, but no worries. This phone is WELL worth the money, the camera is INCREDIBLE.

JUNK

Apr 18, 2004 by jusone808

I had the LG VX 6000, Audo 8900, and this phone. This phone was better than the rest but sometimes turns on and off for no reason. Hard to turn it on slient and sometimes you cant answer it and it rings untill u take the battery out. I didnt really like it im waiting for the 9900, 7000, or the MOTO 710

Love This Phone!!

Feb 22, 2004 by CWilliams

I have had this phone for a couple weeks and so far this phone is super! Have not had an ounce of trouble with anything. I love the weight and size. I do not like a light, cheap feeling phone and this is a very well made great quality phone. Very happy!

Better than the vx6000

Feb 20, 2004 by pxrodr3

This is the best phone verizon has came out with so far. i've had the vx6000 and if u compare it to the a610 it makes the vx6000 look like if it was 2 or 3 years old.

pros.

Much better camera.
Display is awsome.
U can store like 10x more pictures than the vx6000.
The battery lifetime is almost 2x longer.

cons.
only thing i can think of that people might not of like is that is bigger (bulky) than the vx6000, but i'm a guy and i think is better than having a small feminine phone.

in conclusion sch-610 is a great, fun phone to have. it's worth the money.
