Great phone but...

Feb 24, 2003 by reidsch

I've had a lot of phone over the years. This is my second GSM phone. My criteria for a phone is I want it small with a lot of features. My last phone was a V60g.
Now the Siemens S55 is a very cool phone and has a lot of WOW factor. My issues with the phone are the volume seems too low, there are no regular (normal) ring tones, and I can't take advantage of some of it's features on Y-mobiles US network.
Overall it is very easy to use with a great screen.

Overall Great Phone

Pros: feature packed, small size, attractive design

Cons: volume is a little soft, phone seems very susceptible to wind noise when outside, battery life leaves something to be desired

Neutral: RF reception is average - not as good as many Nokias but still light years better than the SE T68i, which this phone seems designed to compete with.

Overall I'm very happy with this phone.

What an excellent phone

This is one of the best phones I have owned. It has everything you need in a gsm phone. The only downside is the color screen is only 256 colors, siemens should have made it a 65k then the phone would be perfect. This phone has bluetooth, speaker phone, gprs and the design is beautiful. I love the phone!

OK

This phone looks great and has cool features, but doesn't have very good sound quality. The ringer is plenty loud so you always know you have a call, but the call volume is very low even when on the loudest setting. Unless you are in a very quiet environment you will not be able to hear the other person, although the mic works well and they will be able to hear you. The sound quality is very good when you can hear the person. I've never used the camera, bluetooth, infrared, or gone online with it. I've had it on Rogers in Saskatchewan and have had decent signal (unless in big buildings with lots of cement) and very few dropped calls. I find the battery lasts 2-5 days usually depending on how much the phone is used. I use my phone ~1000 minutes/month. I like the fact that the addressbook has room for addresses, emails, work addresses and phone number, birthdays, etc. I also like that you can upload all your phone number onto a computer and sync your address books. Other than the call volume, I was very happy with this phone. It got such a low rating because call volume is very important, since I first and foremost want a phone I can use in all settings.

NOT WORTH IT

This fone was good when it firt came out, with attachable camera and flash. but now with all the other new fones this one can't match up to the rest.

Even though it has all the bluetooth and infared for sharing items with ur friends its has a very small storage space.

The internet is GPRS but it is a bit slow. i liked this fone wen it came out but about two months later other new better fones came out.

iv had this fone for about 1 1/2 yrs and about afta one yr the buttons started to fall off, this happend to my couzin to because she has the same fone. the sound isnt that loud either.

Pro's: it has internet, small, light, looks good and thats about it

Con's: it cant change covers, the screen is small, the battery cant last that long, and its just to old. lots of fones kill this one.
DONT GET IT
