Great Phone

Jul 27, 2003 by Vince Giffin

I love my 6610! I test cell phone professionally and waste my spare time as a cell phone enthusiast. After much experience, my choice is the Nokia 6610. I use the speaker phone (I feature I thought to be useless at first) almost daily. I would like a phone with Bluetooth, but my for my needs the 6610 works just fine. The reception is a 9 (4.5 out of 5)! I would recommend this phone to anyone who does not NEED an internal camera or Bluetooth.

Nokia 6610 not ready for prime time!!!

***Danger*** Before you spend $$$ on this phone and you are interested in using the Infrared connection, download the software suite and take your laptop to the store and test it!!!
Having said that, my PC Infrared connection worked once with the phone, then stopped. My computer no longer sees the phone. I have tried all their fixes and nothing works. I've checked out my laptop and it's fine. The NOKIA people are clueless, even after wasting 1.5 hours of my time on the phone. My impression is that the driver for the phone is flawed.
Nokia could care less that I paid $200 for something that does not work as advertised. Their offer was to have me send in my BUSINESS PHONE for 7-10 days. I guess they consider their products to be toys for their customers as they would not provide a loaner phone or send me a free data cable to rectify the situation. [...]
Otherwise, the phone is as nice as any of my favorite Samsungs that I have or had. The speaker phone is loud, great sound quality and filters out the background noise of my V8 Toyota! The screen is sharp, bright, pretty colors and seems adequate. Though I don't use this phone for checking email. The swappable covers keep the phone looking new and the headset it ships with is as good or better than any I've had from Belkin and others. I would still go with Samsung over any other brand (I've had 3) if only for the better customer service. Stay away from LG, Motorola, and Siemens. The corporate carrier's stores do a good job steering you away from the crappy phones as they don't want the returns... Would I buy Nokia again? No, strictly due to how I was treated by their "Tech Support" and I use the term very loosely. Hey Nokia folks, have you seen your stock price lately? Hee hee hee! I hope you feel some of the pain you're putting me through, you bastages!

Great Phone!!

This is a great phone. It has just about everything that I like in a phone: color screen, FM radio, Small light-weight design, and excellent reception, rated at 2.0 watts. This phone is definitely the best buy for price and features that is offered by T-Mobile.

Not a big winner for me

I haven't owned a Nokia in over 2 years. I see not much has changed. Menus are all the same, so if you own one now, you'll have no problem with this one. I had dropped calls and weak signal and none of the T-zone items worked with this phone either, although I'm not sure what the problem was. I thought the sound quality was bad although the speaker phone was very nice. All in all, no surprises and nothing new. Phone was too small for me and I returned it less than 24 hours after I got it.

I love this phone i have tested many phone and none have come close to this kind of phone. I like the high res color screen very long batt life. I get about 12 days out of it if i don't use it often and the built-in FM tuner is better than my Sony Walkman. the price is a little high but it is worth it. Many other phone cost more and you get less
