Simply Amazing

May 16, 2008 by Nateku

I just got this phone a couple days ago and it has really wormed its way into my heart. I got it in maroon which is simply lovely and it has a nice weight and feel to it. I text often, so the QWERTY is very useful and nicely spaced out. Call quality is clear and the speakers have amazing sound.

Pros

+ QWERTY makes texting easy.
+ Bright and big internal screen
+ High sound quality
+ 2 megapixel camera is great for photos
+ The silver trim and maroon color are to die for
+ Large inbox and outbox for texts

Cons

- Front screen lacks functionality and size

Overall a very good hone and at only $99.99 online right now, it's a great deal. Definitely a step up from the old Env. ^_^

so far so good!

May 15, 2008 by bleu_tropix

i've had the maroon env2 for 3 weeks, so now's as good a time as any to give my $0.02. this is my first qwerty phone, i've only had flip phones before this but i don't miss the form factor at all. my usage is relegated to calls and light texting only (less than 250 msgs/month). on to the phone's functionality:

PROS:
-compact size, look, sturdy build, and quality feel. yes, it looks like a calculator on the outside but to me it's unique from the rest (i'm coming from the razr, which everyone still has)
-bearable version of the verizon UI, thank goodness those red/black bars are gone! having 4 themes is great (my fav is 'slick black')
-reception and overall call quality is very good, even in the fringe area where i live(upper valley, near mountains)
-qwerty is just the right size and keys are spaced perfectly. the keys on the voyager and enV were just too far apart for my thumbs to type comfortably. this keyboard makes switching from a non-qwerty effortless and actually fun!
-for me, the external screen and large keypad is as functional as it's supposed to be. i know this is a con for most of you, but i have no problems with it. the backlight of this screen is bright enough to be seen in sunlight...a major plus.
-internal screen is gorgeous. size is just right and colors pop
-camera takes decent photos, haven't tried the camcorder yet
-finally, the battery life of this thing is the best i've ever seen in a cell phone. as with most new "toys" i've been doing a lot of calling and texting over the last 3 weeks and have only had to charge every 5-6 days or so. it's awesome.

CONS:
-call quality. yes i also listed it as a pro, and it's good, but my only complaint is that the earpiece leaves much to be desired in loud/semi-loud environments. i find myself having to ask callers to repeat themselves more than i'd like
-vibrate is weak,but i only use vibrate when i can't take calls anyway, so it's a non-issue

overall, it's a great little device. try it out!

Very Happy

May 30, 2008 by sbgregory15

I have had this phone for 3 weeks now and have been very happy with it's performance and features.

Pros:
battery life
camera is good
movies on the phone look great
size

Cons:
space button is small and not in best location

I am a very picky consumer and I have been pleased with this phone so far.

Great Phone

My family purchased 3 of these phones a few weeks back and we love them. The front keypad lockout is a good compromise between ease of use and avoiding unwanted activation. You can do all your voice calls from the front keypad. They key size and back lighting are very usable for my middle aged eyesight. I was blown away by the keypad visibility when dark.

Great phone!

I actually just got this phone yesterday. I upgraded from the last enV. This phone will definitely take some getting used to.

Pros:

- you can sort your text messages!
- It takes really fast pictures unlike the regular enV.
- The inside key pad seems easier to type on.
- It's not as bulky as the previous enV.

Cons:
-the outside screen is really small.
-When texting using the outside number pad, you can only text to one recipient at a time.
- There are no left or right keys, so if you make a mistake while texting you can't go back and fix it without clearing it out.
- The CLR button isn't in a convenient place, but that's just a matter of getting used to it.
-no flash on the camera.

Most of the cons will just take getting used to seeing as how I am coming off of using the previous enV. Those are my thoughts. I am overall happy with the phone.

SOLID TEXTING PHONE!

Feb 20, 2009 by CAS8586

Had this phone for a very long time now and I have found, that this is by far the BEST solid text messaging phone!!!

Going through these negative comments on this phone, I just dont know what you people are really talking about!! Phone Freezes???? mine never did!! If it does take out the battery and put it back in!! Battery Life sucks??? What are you talking about!! I charge my phone every 4 days and I use every function on this phone!! Face it you negative people, your stuck in a 2 year contract and can't upgrade for about atleast 20 months!! SO DO A WARRANTY EXCHANGE, IF YOU FIND YOUR PHONE IS NOT WORKING PROPERYLY!!! YOU WILL END UP GETTING ONE THAT WORKS AS GREAT AS MINE!!! THAT DOESNT WORK..SELL IT AND BUY ANOTHER PHONE!! STOP CRYING!

Can't stand these people that make these negative comments about any phone, and the problem can easily be fixed!!! So many people expect soo many things on every cell phone they get...

My advise to you people that are shopping for a new phone...Find a phone that you are most interested in, Personally play with it your self at any local verizon store...If you love it at first site..BUY IT..THE MOMENT YOU FIND SOMETHING YOU DONT LIKE ABOUT IT, EXCHANGE IT!!!...you have 30 days to play with it....Don't go by what peoples opinions are...make your own choices!!!

PROS:
-GREAT CAMERA 2.0 MEGAPIXELS
-QWERTY KEYBOARD (BIG THUMBS HAS TO GET USE TO IT)
-BATTERY LIFE GREAT!!
-MP3..FITS UP TO 4 GIGS!!
-EVDO INTERNET IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR JUST FOR QUICK SEARCHES, WANT USE THE INTERNET HEAVILY, GET A COMPUTER OR GET A STORM! (ESPN MVP IS THE $#!T)
-NAVIGATION 4.0 IS THE $#!T
-PRICE, VERY AFFORTABLE..SOLID DURABLE PHONE, BEST TEXTING PHONE IN THE MARKET I BELIEVE..
-RECEPTION IS GREAT!!

CONS:
-LOOKS LIKE A CALCULATER
-FRONT SCREEN LITTLE SMALL
-NOT A PHONE FOR INTERNET USERS!!! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD!!!

Versatile Little Phone

Jun 24, 2008 by snsjets

This is the 5th LG phone that we have owned. I've had the enV2 for a month and overall am very happy. I really wanted an iPhone but just could not go back to AT&T's lousy/expensive GSM service.
I like the fact that this phone is very customizable. I installed an 8gb card and went to town with pictures, videos, and sounds.
My biggest complaint(as many have mentioned): The vibrate is very weak, even with the belt-clip! I almost returned the enV2 due to this. I used vibrate on my VX-5200 at work most of the time and it worked great. After some thought I decided that one major con was outweighed by the pros.

Pros~
Good design and feel
User friendly
Compact
Abundant features
Good call quality and reception
Excellent for texting
Very customizable
Excellent battery life
Decent camera for a phone
Musics sounds great thru headphones, OK on speakers

Cons~
Weak vibrate!!
Funky key lock
Front screen: small, very limited function
Cannot use other menu functions while music is playing

Conclusion: Excellent little phone for $49.99!

Amazing phone!

Pro's:
-Nice sleek design
-Nice flat camera
-Great working camera
-Nice selection of ringtones
-Loud sound and great speakers

Con's:
-Hard to answer a call
-I have to admit, it doesn't take the greatest videos!

Overall, I got this phone exactly three weeks ago for my eleventh birthday, and I haven't put it down since! I am a texter, so I needed the keyboard! If you want to buy it, go for it! It's better than the Voyager, because touch screens are REALLY obnoxious!

had the env now I have the env 2

May 16, 2008 by curlie777

Overall it's a good phone.

I loved my env so i was very skeptical about this phone... It's easier to name the things i don't like about this phone...

1. weak vibrate
2. no camera flash
3. no camera cover
4. no auto focus for camera
5. Menu system...liked the env's MUCH more.
6. HATE where the music button is! i keep accidentally turning it on when it's in a case!
7. HATE that the menu in the front has only up and down arrow and not left and right!
8. HATE that i can't access my calender or alarm clock from the front menu.

IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE THE ENV it might not a big deal for you but i loved my env and it broke so they upgraded me to this...overall i do like the phone and how small it is.
