GREAT NOKIA!!!

Dec 31, 2008 by bill1977

the first thing i noticed about this phone, is how nice it looks with real stainless steel front and back on it,also you can change the keypad lights 7 different colors, which is a nice feature, reception is awesome as with most nokias, the camara takes very good pics, and the battery life is excellent,i got rid of my last nokia for this reason, also the micro sd slot is on the side of the phone so no more taking out the battery to get to it. as far as the operating system it does take a little getting used to but everything on the phone is relativly easy to find, and i have not had any problems. the past 3 nokias that i have had,had terrible battery life, and had problems shutting off for no reason, the battery in this phone is 1500 mah and is almost as long as the phone itself,i only have to charge every 2 days and that is with making alot of calls,so after all the complants about battery life nokia finally listened.

Good phone for business use

This GSM handset is extremely suitable for intensive business use. The quadband GSM network support, this device almost anywhere in the world accessible. If the phone is within range of a UMTS network can be high-speed data to and from the unit be sent. Useful for tracking mobile email, or receive large files.

Very nice phone

I've had this phone for about 2 weeks now, and overall, I rate it as a keeper with a few minor flaws. On the plus side, it starts up quickly, and the address book, camera and My Stuff are clearly marked. The 2 megapixel camera is one of the better phone cameras I've seen, and I owned a Samsung A707 for a year-and-a-half. This is much better. The pictures are sharp and clear, and the flash is actually decent. I would have liked a zoom feature for the camera, but overall, it's well above-average for a phone camera. The phone also turns off very quickly. As a phone, it makes and receives calls just fine.

Alas, the battery life is underwhelming, and the door that covers the charger plugin is extremely flimsy. It literally almost broke off the first time I opened it. Another very minor point is that since the keys are completely flat, it's very easy to push the wrong key. In fact, if you buy this phone, you WILL press the wrong key not infrequently.

Overall, this is an above average phone. I like it. I plan to keep it and I can recommend it to anyone who's not a big texter.

Great Phone for Money

Use this phone for non-Blackberry functions, but works almost as well as full blown smartphone.

Pros:
Great browser
Graphics
Size
Sound quality
Corporate email support (POP3, IMAP)

Cons:
Speakerphone marginal
Camera just ok
Some awkward button placement

A better N75...

Nov 28, 2008 by ANDYFLOYD82

If some of you all remember last year ATT launched the nokia N75. It was a good phone, i had one...but the battery life was terrible and the hinge was weak, and the phone was just too big. This is basically a N75 with a HUGE battery, a faster processor, and a very strong feeling hinge.

Pros-

-Symbian software is nice and especially for the price that ATT is asking. This is a very capable phone for being a flip.
-Battery life is excellent. it has a 1500mah battery that is more than large enough to keep this thing lasting over 5 hours of talk time.
-outside touch pad is nice for flipping though calendar and music stuff.
-signal strength is very good as well like most nokias.

Cons-

-For some symbian can be challenging at first.

PROS
-most importantly, the phone gets great reception. i live in michigan, and am now receiving a much better signal than i did with my previous phones (lg and sony ericsson).
-the phone is small, which is nice compared to the huge form factors of the newly popular full keyboard phones.
-the operating system gives a lot of user definable options.
-bluetooth works great.

CONS
-hard to flip open with one hand.
-the keypad took a day or two to get used to. there were many miss spelled words at first.
-the operating system is much more advanced than a normal flip phone. and therefore took more time to learn to navigate. but once mastered, it is very nice.

overall a great phone.
really happy i bought it.

4 out of 5

After waiting on this for several months to replace my N75, I finally got it and for the most part it works pretty well ... BUT !!!

Early specs I'd seen on this phone indicated it had an FM radio (which I use almost every day). Got it home and started messing with it and ---- no FM. It has an XM hookup but not FM. That could well be the killer for me.

However ...

I really like the phone. It feels good in the hand and S60 is a little quicker than in the N75. It appears to me that Symbian has been stripped down a little bit in this phone, and internal memory seems to be a little short at 20M - but that only really impacts those who consider themselves S60 purists and power users. Those of us who are a little less than that can still multi-task multiple apps at the same time.

RF has been strong but a few conversations have been "choppy". I dont' know whether that's the phone or 3G (I lean towards it being a 3G issue 'cause I had the same problem on the N75 until I changed it to GSM-only and the chop disappeared).

Size-wise it's not as clunky as the N75 - external speaker volume and ring volume leave a lot to be desired but workable - keypad's OK. One aggravating thing is that AT&T loaded it up with a bunch of apps I personally would never use. But I tried to delete them and they're locked up - you can't delete or un-install them to pick up some more memory.

Bottom line - I like it - but don't know whether I'll keep it or not due to no FM.

if you're lloking for a basic nokia, this is not it! But it is a great phone.

This model is a low price full-fledged pda. The only down side is that it doesn't have a full keyboard. It runs on the symbian software, which is the same software the nokia n series and e series run on. So you can do pop3/imap email and even run off an exchange server with wireless sync on a $15 data plan with 3g speeds! It also hard syncs with outlook using nokia's pc suite and a data cable. This phone also gives you a full html browser, built in gps and a 2mp flash camera. It also has a metal outside with awesome reception. Overall this is one of the most versatile and affordable phones out there. It retails for $50 with a two-year agreement after rebate. I'd recommend it to anyone from teenagers to executives. basically anyone except basic users.
