What a nightmare

Dec 13, 2007 by KenJan

Pros: Worked out of the box but still learning how to use all the features. Nice voice speed dial feature.
Cons: I bought two of these about two weeks apart. The first had to be reset twice by the time I received the second it had to be reset a few more times. I thought it was just that version of phone. The second one for myself has had to be reset several times. We are mixed weather to send them back or keep them. They just feel soo nice. We have had very little help from Sprint, they just so remove the battery, as if that is going to help.

Needs firmware update

Did anyone at Sprint test this thing? Out of the box for only a week and I've had it freeze up; the keypad switches modes by itself; my memory card got erased/corrupted and the screen wakes up all the time! I need to see a firmware fix before my 30 day trial is up else it gets returned.

Great quality control, Sprint.

worst phone I've ever owned

Jul 17, 2008 by eskercurve

I have sprint in the Seattle area, and the reception is fine, but let me list the things that have gone wrong with this phone:

-Freezing during calls (and can't hang up)
-Internet Explorer not properly executing
-Power button sticking just barely out enough to nuisance turn on (and thus forced to use the faceplate lock)
-Insufficient visibility in bright sunlight
-Turn off function not working (and thus have to take out the battery)
-And when you reboot the phone, it doesn't always tell you you've missed a call or have voicemail!

This phone, quite literally, is the worst phone I've ever owned.

This Phone Would Be Great W/O WM6

I work for sprint and I had such high hopes for this phone! I think anyone who had put up a review on this phone and not had the phone for at least had the phone for two weeks could not give an accurate review because they did not give the phone enough time to crap out on you... I've been missing MANY calls and my phone keeps waking itself up when i feels like being a naughty phone. Sprint I semi blame but I truly think Windows mobile it the true disapointment here. Windows mobile would be great if it worked... People are better off with getting a centro because at least you can count on your call coming in. Lol. Seriously though if you have $ to burn then pick it up but the phone is not even close to being worth the $250 that they ask. I'd say its worth about.....$1.50....

PROS: Form factor, WM6 is very customizable
CONS: Windows Mobile Sucks Peroid

The HTC killer..

The phone is perfect if it would work like a phone..The tech pro are useless spend hours w/sprint to get to the correct dept..
The phone would freeze up and ur not allowed to receive call.Ur voice mail come in whenever 2 or 3 days later. The battry last about 2 hr talk time,by 3pm the battery is dead,so u have to walk w/ a charger.
The phone has a mine of its own.
hate to give it up because it is a nice size, not big and bulkey. If u have problem seeing this is not for u,the letters are very small.

Get this phone!!!!

OK this phone is great! I don't say that because its the new thing and everybody wants a touch screen format of a phone. Because the CUBE interface, I don't use. Its neat but I never pull it up. Everyone that is saying texting or emailing is hard or sucks is full of it. That was my major hang up about buying this phone. Once I had a chance to play with it it easy. I had a Mogul before this and I can type faster with the Touch then I could with the full keyboard of the Mogul. The feel of the phone is great. It grips to your hands like a glove.

Pros

Looks and feels great.
Easy to use
The mp3 player is sweet
Sprint TV
Sprint TV
Sprint TV in wide screen
Having the weather on the home screen

Cons

Not enough internal memory
Alarm is a joke

OK, but not great

I just bought the Touch after using HTC's Wizard for nearly two years. I actually like the Wizard's performance but hated the bulkiness. The Touch seemed just the thing I was looking for but...

CONS
-the cube interface is neat, but at the end of the day, superfluous.
- Ditto for the scrolling gesture. I'd rather have a scroll wheel to be honest. Often times I will accidentally click a link or select a contact when I meant to scroll.
-the keyboard is difficult to use without a stylus. Although there are some third party keyboard downloads that are a little more usable. However - if you have big, hammy hands forget it.
-battery not too hearty. I find that I need to charge at the end of every day of moderate use. The Wizard could last two days.

PROS
-has a good feel. The rubberized grip and substantial weight make it feel like a sturdy build.
-I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not one to wear a phone strapped to my belt. This phone can easily slip into the pocket of your jeans: no bulk,no problem.
-Sprint really does have amazingly fast data transfer rates. Surfing the Internet is pretty darn smooth.

Sundry observations
-yes, the micro SD card is hard to get at...but it's so tiny, it seems like it could be easily lost without the protection of the battery case.
-I'm righty, but I find it easier to operate while holding it in my left hand and use my right hand fingers for screen-touching. I also mapped the "OK/close program" function to the camera button. I access that button with my left hand pinky. For me, its an easier way to close a program, than trying to touch the tiny "x" on the top right corner of the screen.
-This is not an iPhone, this is not an iPhone killer. This is a windows mobile 6 device that's a little slimmer and sexier than its bulkier cousins, but just a little harder to operate if you're used to a slide out, full QWERTY keyboard.

wi-fi...

To make things clear, i work for sprint, the HTC TOUCH is an amazing phone. It DOES have the WI-FI connectivity. For more info on this phone go to htctouch.com.

OK, but not worth the money.

I enjoy the phone but am not particularly happy with the design, when i heard that we at Sprint were getting the Touch, I thought it was the Touch Dual for HTC, the lack of a proper keyboard and lackluster perfomance of the TouchFlo interface, force me to give it very low ratings, the keyboard is a SureType deriven Keyboard, meaning it basically has an akward T9 style text input that requires hours to get used to.

Great phone!

i had the 6800 mogul but this touch blows it away.
