BAD PHONE!

Jan 9, 2006 by bsballdude27

I got this phone from a friend and he said it was like new. Well it was. But the right side of the flip cracked in a week. Then a month later the phone broke in half. So I went to Verizon and bought an LG VX4400. The Lg 4400 is by far the best phone EVER!!

Pros: ummm.... NONE!

Cons: WAY TO MANY TO LIST!

Reliable Phone

This phone has served me well during the past few years. Since I use it as a phone only and am not interested in other features I have not upgraded in the last few years.
I get excellent battery life from the extended battery I bought. I can go two to three days without charging if need be.
The cons I have are the ringer volume, which is not very loud. When the phone is in my pocket while in the car I sometimes don't hear it.
Also, at my home, there is a problem with reception. It seems when I pull into the driveway, the signal strength drops quite a bit.
Other than those two items, I have had good service from it. no repairs in two years.

decent phone

I bought this about 2 years ago after 2 bad lgvx10 phones.

Pros: Great sensitivity, only phone I've owned that works in my basement.

Cons: Locks up on dial outs sometimes, and the outside screen died on me after a few months.

Getting two Motorola v276's today, wish me luck!

DONT BE FOOLED BY THE OUTER BEAUTY OF THE A310

Aug 8, 2005 by RACHELLEL

I have had 6 Samsung A310s in one year, all crack after 4 months at screen base, followed by a chunk falling out at hinge, followed by the hinge loosening totally. Others have same problem if you read some other reviews here.

The Insurance company and Manufacturer deny any problem or irregularity in this model and will blame you. The insurance company simply sends you another A310 that is refurbished and then there you are all over again 4 months down the line.

I called Samsung Technical Support who refuses to address the issue, refund or update, not one bit interested in hearing this is a broadbase complaint

There is a definite hardware flaw in this assemmbly. Have pity on those of us who did not know or have these to read before buying.

Samsung does not support its merchandise.

Good Phone But no bells and whistles

I bought this phone from ebay, this phone is a great standard phone.

Pros:

The blue backlight is a nice touch

It uses the standard hands free

Cons:

When using the T9 dictionary there is no way for you to put in your own words

Finding a holster for this phone in a regular cell phone store is almost impossible

There are no downloadable anything (ringtones, wallpaper, games)

This is a standard flip phone

Ringtones!!!

I wish that this phone had much better ring tones. The ones that cam with it are really, really, really gay!!! I'm not really sure how to text message, but I hope that I can figure it out!!!

Best phone I've had with Verizon So Far

Mar 18, 2005 by msdee07

I got this phone my senior year in HS (2003)-and back then it was fairly new, and i loved it. I didnt have any problems besides a few dropped calls but thats it. I dont know who was talking about the ringtones not being loud enough, but on the phone i had-the ringtones were quite loud-i mostly had it on vibrate. Even though it doesnt have a color screen-it has a nice bright blue screen and i loved the colors on the caller id when someone called. It also came with a car charger (big plus), home charger, and a belt clip (another plus). I also had a leather case, so i guess thats why my screen didnt crack like others have been saying. I dont have this phone unfortunately because it got lost somehow when i got to college, so now 4 cell phones later i have ended up with that sucky Kyocera Phantom phone, but im really thinking about buying this Samsung phone because i really liked it. Yea the wallpapers were a little cheesy and it doesnt have Get It Now-but that stuff doesnt matter to me anyway-Get it Now sucks anyway. This is a good phone-if you dont want to pay a lot for a nice phone-i suggest you go to Ebay or something and buy one-u wont regret it.

Vile!

This is the worst phone in every category I can imagine. The ring is inaudible. The vibration alert is unfeelable. The audio quality is execrable... and the cover snapped off while I was simply opening it to make a call.
I have insurance, and the company had no more 310s to send me, so they replaced it with an LG vx4500. Halleluyah! There is a G-d!!!!!

Worst Cell Phone I've Ever Had!

Feb 6, 2005 by sfmatt

To add to everyone else's comments about the the right side flip connector cracking every few months (happened on two phones already), I've gone through two other ones just by accidentally dropping them distances of 2-3 feet. My girlfriend was trying to put it in her purse on the floor while sitting at dinner, it slipped out of her hand and fell 1.5-2 feet onto the floor blanking out the display. The phone is virtually useless now. I've seen friends drop their Motorola V60 down flights of stairs and still work.

I realize that manufacturers cannot create products that never break, but anyone who makes portable cell phones should put more effort into producing products that can withstand normal wear and tear. Correspondence with Samsung support has been fruitless as they refuse to acknowledge any responsibility for poor design (cracked flip screen connector) or poor quality.

I'm forgoing the insurance replacement this time and getting a completely different phone. I will never buy a Samsung phone again.

Watch out for refurbished A310s

Feb 4, 2005 by reducedfatoreo

I had no problems with this phone until I lost the first one I bought after 14 months. Asurion insurance sent me a replacement refurbished A310 (check the total calls made...that normally can't be deleted and it can let you know if 3000 calls had been made on your phone before you had it, as was the case with this one). Within two months the phone started freezing both during calls and while in idle mode. The phone would not turn off unless I disconnected the battery and would not turn on again unless the battery was out for at least a minute, then the whole thing would happen again within a short amount of time. I sent the phone back to Asurion and they sent me another A310. This time it only took two weeks for the same thing to happen. It's a shame, because I did like this model, but it's not likely that most people will have their phones for long enough for this problem to occur anyway. Watch out for refurbished phones, though!
