Hate it

Jul 25, 2008 by DeimosX60

This phoen was supposed to be better than the Fusic it replaced. Not at all!!!

Pros:
The multi-tasking feature makes it easy to reply to texts while you're listening to music

Cons:
Really bad battery life
Mine corrupted a 4 gig micro SD card.
For the size, it's rather bulky.

HATE IT!

Jul 8, 2008 by phone_lover_16

Well! I brought this phone thinking I was gonna love it...which i did for awhile. But i have found so many downfalls about it. Be careful texting because keys might start to lift up. I find this phone to be very fake. I have to now get a new phone because when I open my phone the screen is black and STAYS black as if it has been off, but it isn't. And the bottom keys light up. Just a troublesome phone, which I DO NOT have time for.. dont buy it.

Awesome phone!!!

Just got this phone and I love it, love it, love it!!! Still an easy phone to use, has all the features I need, and takes quality pictures and videos. Just wish I could send videos that were longer than 15 secconds. At least it'll take longer videos with an SD card. So far I haven't had any problems with reception or battery life. Don't think I'll be trading this phone in any time soon.

An excellent choice

I think it is time for a US Cellular review. All previous posts seem to be from other carriers. What most people don't realize is that phones with the same model number function different on different networks. For instance the V3m is a terrible phone on verizon but one of the best at US Cellular.

Now for my review of the 565.

What a wonderful phone from style and design, to function, and ease of use. The texting problems and external screen problems are not a problem at US Cellular. you have to unlock the buttons on the outside of the phone after 15 seconds of non use. Texting is fast and the t9 in this phone is great. I love the voice activated dialing. It is smart really smart.

But I do have a few cons. The FM modulator is underpowered. I find that no-matter what channel I put it on my car is still pulling a quiet feed from another nearby channel. So maybe it's the tuner in my car but I have had FM Transmitters for my ipod that were capable of blocking others out. I also have not yet figured out how to save an MP3 as a ringtone. I used to have a nokia 6265 and loved that I could do that. The other thing that my nokia did was allow me to listen to my MP3's via a single bluetooth earpiece. I know this is a very special feature but I haven't been able to do that with this phone either.

As you can see my only grievances on this phone are on the Mp3 player as far as the phone itself goes I have no complaints.

Great LG phone from Alltel

Mar 23, 2008 by cbales24

Just got the LG AX565 from Alltel a couple of weeks ago. I am very happy with it so far. I put a 4gb card in it and it now works great as an MP3 player. The FM transmitter feature sounds cool, but I have not tried it. No problems with call quality or speakerphone quality to date; I am an Alltel user in Kansas. I found the camera to be adequate. It's a 4.5 rather than a 5 because there are a few small things that annoy me. There doesn't seem to be a way to customize what the up/down/left/right arrows do from the main screen. (They default to Axcess Web, Contacts, music, and Axcess Shop, respectively) Although, there is a soft key for messages, so you can get to 'new text message' pretty easily. The other soft key is for Celltop, a feature that I have found mostly unhelpful. To be fair, other than the arrow keys, the wallpapers and everything are very customizable. On the music player, the controls work very well from the outside, but, after a few seconds of not hitting buttons, the touch pad disappears and the keys automatically lock. You unlock them by holding the music key, which really isn't too difficult to access. This is actually helpful if the phone is in your pocket, but kind of a peeve otherwise. I thought there should at least be an option to change it. Again, a very small problem. There is the usual problem of smudging, but I don't really consider this an actual problem. In fact, I had a cover on it for awhile to prevent this and eventually took it off.

Pros
Strong battery life
Good enough to be a standalone MP3 player
Call quality
Mostly customizable
Very thin
External music display is more appealing than others
Easy-to-hit buttons
Big, bright display
4gb card, easy transfer

Cons
Can't customize arrow keys
Camera and music keys are on top half of flip
Celltop a poor feature
Cannot toggle automatic keylock for external controls

So Far So Good

Mar 21, 2008 by DrummerCT

I bought this phone as a companion to the Sprint Mogul (which is much better for email or texting purposes). I simply wanted something I could toss in my pocket - the Mogul is too bulky for that (I generally haul that around in my briefcase - as a surrogate for carrying around a notebook computer).

Pros:
It works as a phone... I like the various features, such as SprintTV. Reception is generally good (except on my street!). Reliable so far. I like being able to quickly check email insofar as seeing what emails may have arrived. The Bluetooth function works well with the Plantronics 510 earpiece and with the Garmin Nuvi 360 (which I can use as a handsfree device).

Cons:
Speakerphone sound is not very good. You can hear it, but the quality of the sound is bordering on unpleasant. Battery life is poor if I have the email constantly pushed to the Muziq. If instead, I manually check for email, the battery's fine. On several occasions, the phone has reset itself in the midst of some use or the other (turns off then on), for reasons I can't decipher. If it keeps up, I may swap it for another Muziq.

good

This phone is ok, but it broke easily and when you touch the outside of this phone, the music screen turns right on and it gets really annoying. And if you like to text this phone is not for you!!!!!!! Besides that, Its a nice looking, kind of fun fun and has some good features and a great camera. This is a good phone for the regular, average people.

my review

Mar 4, 2008 by JAGon09

i thought this phone was great when i first got it. it was till about a few hours later when the plastic protective cover came off. it gets scratched so easily that a finger print could probably scratch it. i like the music player, not loud but through headphones or fm transmitter it is great. and camera takes good pics for 1.3mp love the themes and video ringers.

Pros:
call quality
design
touch screen with haptics
flash
great camera quality
batt life(although some complain about charging it daily i can go for 13 hours straight with music txting and fm transmitter all at the same time.)

Cons:
Speaker quality( you can hear ringers max out and they sound garbled)
Video ringers are very blurry and not worth the three dollars you have to pay
scratches horribly easy just pulling in and out of my pocket as turned the touchscreen buttons gray from so many scratches. back has gray corners from where it vibrates on the table as well
if video is set to background, custom ringtones wont play. it will make the same beep noise like when an application is running even in vibrate mode(found that one out the hard way at school)

****weird fact****
if no one else haven't noticed the batteries are different in the black model and pink one. my mother and both decided to get this model and i was bored and found out the black muziq phones have a i think 780mAh battery and the pink have the stated 800mAh. i have the 800mAh battery b/c my moms first pink muziq went wrong with a software update and froze so i kept her battery. now i have a little bit longer of usage of battery. Yay me!!!! lol. ;)

Great for Music

Feb 28, 2008 by drake

This phone worked great for music with a designated music button, and with the capabitiblity of Pandor Music through Sprint. Quick access to transfer music and download from Sprint's online site.

Phone also looked cool and recieved many compliments. Outside music pad lights up red when shut, very fancy

I would reccomend this phone to anyone who is looking for a great media centered phone!

Nice upgrade

Feb 13, 2008 by pink01

This was a very nice upgrade from the LG Fusic, although I miss the interchangable color face plates. Has good reception and clarity and the friendly interface looks nice. I noticed an interesting thing when texting, you can NOT touch the outside navigation button when a messege is being sent. This will cancel the text due to the keyguard, simply make sure you dont bump it while sending a messege. I've noticed it also randomly power cycles during internet or text messege use (rarely). This seems common for LG, they tend to be buggy devices. I can easily live w/ it though, it's a great phone.

PROS:
Looks great
Awesome interface (love how you can send the music application to the background and check other things)
Stores up to 4gigs music

CONS:
Occasional bugs
Sprint Music Manager isn't useful imo
Connects to the Sprint Store to play music, Fusic was faster w/ it's own player
