Not Bad

Jun 17, 2009 by MJSNY

Loved the size and weight of this phone. Battery life not good. Liked the slider part. Still pics are pretty good, video on the phone I had would sometimes lose the sound/sound would cut out on playback. Decent speaker. Music sounds good. Nice Screen/Pics.

Pros:
Size and weight
Slider
Good Call Quality
Can talk with phone closed
Screen
When slider closed, covers the camera lens

Cons:
Spin wheel and touch keys somewhat annoying. Takes you to things your not looking for.
Sound on the Video

Um.

Well, it was cool for a while. People would always tell me stuff like "hey, nice phone" and "cool phone man" and other garbage like that, and I was pretty proud of my little chocolate.
Anyway, the screen fingerprints like nothing else, which seems to bother people, and it scratches with very little abuse. You also can't read it if you're in the sun. The slide is solid and durable, but the external volume keys broke after a little over a year of gentle use (by gentle use, I mean I don't throw the thing across the room like everyone else seems to do).
The battery just cuts out whenever it wants to now. It isn't a result of jostling or heat or cold. It just stops, even under full charge.
But the biggest problem by a mile is the heat-sensitive keys. If the phone is in your pocket and the front gets close to skin temperature, when you try to use one of the (so called touch) buttons, they don't work until you bring the heat back down so the temperature change is noticeable.
Overall, it's alright. It's good enough for making calls. Texting is a little annoying, but, as humans, we can adapt to that. The camera is surprisingly good, or at least better than expected.

I think I'm gonna go get a Dare.

Incredible music phone

PROS

Great quality build
Sound quality excellent
Music player is superb

CONS
the touch buttons.. not good at it

i liked this phone from the start, but almost took it back for the touch buttons that bothered me so much.. After getting used to it though I deal with it. I am glad I did as the music player is what i use the most. hooked up with good ear phones or a blue tooth stereo headset.. I was amazed at the quality and the ability to use the Micro SD cards. It is now my phone/music player. Battery life is good and have no complaints about this either. I see the 2.5 jack is a problem.. but that can be fixed with adapter as can a screen protector and form fitting case can for the protection of the phone itself.. KUDOS to LG.

yummy

CHOCOLATE IN 3 FLAVORS!!! :)

Oct 2, 2008 by ZIGGYthePUG

I have had my chocolates(blackcherry, light blue & black) since Nov.2007 I gave my daughter the black cherry on about 3mths ago and we both enjoy using our C2's. It's been almost a year, and it is a very solid good phone! It took me a little while to start using all the benefits this phone has to offer, from downloading ringtones & pix to syncing music into it for an mp3 player to using it for email. Call quality and recept are great. Sending/rec'ing tx/pix/vid msgs are good. The mp3 player has really good sound,with/without ear buds.Camera takes good pix, if you want 8mp get a digital camera! There are setting for the wheel and touch sensors. Slider is very sturdy. Batt life is good-i usually get 1-1/2 days and thats with using email/txing/calls. Phone is compact to fit in your pocket.

**CONS**
-the print for my emails is a little hard to read cuz the screen is small
-finger/face prints get on the screen when using the phone
-speaker phone isnt that great; use a bluetooth instead-i have a moto H500 and it works well with the phone.

Overall this phone really is a good phone. Idk what other people are complaining about that they went thru so many phones. The"word" for txing has good prediction even in the email.
I really love my c2 phones and my daughter loves her too!

Pretty Sweet

Alright so i've had this phone for about 7 months now and i'm pleased to say that it has been great! From time to time, it may get a little boring but overall it functions so well that i don't even care. I have heard about users saying their slide is faulty or their touch keypad screws up but I haven't experienced any of these things.

PROS:
1. Cool looking
2. Touch pad very nice
3. Good sound/call quality
4. slide very nice

CONS:
1. Wheel not touch sensitive like its predecessor
2. 1/20 Texts take FOREVER to send and end up saying "send failed" - not great for heavy texters
3. Screen scratches easily

Terrible Phone

Aug 18, 2008 by dodavis

I was so excited to get this phone. It looked sharp and was an upgrade from my original LG White Chocolate. I hated this phone after only a few days. The touchscreen keys are improved from the first generation but the pinwheel is terrible. It chooses buttons you didn't pick and randomly goes back to the beginning screen and you have to start all over again. Switching to speaker is also an pain. None of my music from my memory card would play on this chocolate even though my other phone was a chocolate. I ended up terminating my contract with Verizon.

Pros
*Looks sharp
*Thinner version than original
*Nice color screens
*Camera is pretty good
*Editing picture feature add
*speaker phone option added

Cons
*Touch Keys are sensitive no matter what the setting
*Spin Wheel has a mind of its own
*Music won't transfer from your memory card
* Cons are annoying enough that you will regret getting this phone

Never Again

I switched from tmobile to verizon and thought I would just love the ice blue chocolate. It is a very nice looking phone and the slider phones are my favorite. However what in the world what LG thinking?
I drop calls constantly, when I receive or make a call, the silly touch navigation on the front, switches screens on me, the speaker activates just when I put the phone to my ear. I have locked the touch feature and it still does it. My old phone the Motorola Rizr z3 was the best phone I ever had and believe me I have had alot of phones.
The only good thing I can say about the vx 8550 is the screens are vibrant and it looks nice.

Pros: UH OK the phone looks nice

Cons: touch front options are way to touchy even when set to LOW.
Pictures are terrible!
Drops call constantly!
Can't turn my music into ringtones.
Signal strength is terrible.
there are too many cons for me!!!

I will be going back to Verizon and switching this phone for a totally different model.
All I require is a simple music player, camera, and be able to make or receive a call without it constantly being dropped.

Sorry but this phone was a NO GO for me!
