Motorola W370

Mar 20, 2008 by cherylg

I purchased this phone online from the Trac Phone site and have not been able to use it yet. It came with the wrong charger, and it has been very annoying trying to get through to the supprt team that I need another charger, but I finally got it through to them. The reviews have helped me to at least know that it is a good phone, and I'm sure I will like it, although, I hope I never have to deal with the support tem from Trac Phone again.

Best phone so far

I've got this phone unlocked as a replacment phone because I somehow managed to destroy my previous phone, and currently not elgible for an upgrade. I'm currently on the Cingular/AT&T network. I got the Motorola W370 because I like the style, and didn't need all of the extras of the RAZR or KRZR. By far, it is the best phone I've ever had. It holds signal in my apartment, whereas I had to stand at the window for all of my call before. I have an undergound parking garage, and I still get a signal, with my previous phones, there was no service. Yes, the phone is a runs a bit slow, and mine is has some mispellings in the menu ("dialed" is spelled "dialled" and "centered" is spelled "centred"), but I don't look at thoses most of the time anyway. The sound quality is excellent. All they need to do now is offer a clip holster for this phone. I'm still looking in vain for one.

Not too bad

This is not my kind of phone, let me say that straight out. :-) It is very, very basic and despite its outward looks it is in no way any kind of competition for recent Moto phones like the V8, the V9, the K1 and many others. It's not even *made* by Motorola!

However, having said that, if all you need is a phone to *just* make phone calls, and you do not need any fancy features, no camera, no video, no MMS, no Internet, then maybe this is a good choice for you. It is very cheap for a Motorola.

The good news is that although it is not made by Motorola, it does have a good GSM radio that has good RF signal capture in both the 850 and 1900 range. It's not quite as good as the K1, V8 or V9...but it's good and quite serviceable, entirely the equivalent of other phones costing more money.

Not sure why they bothered even having a colour screen on an LCD with such low resolution. I think I'd have preferred black and white, honestly, in this kind of very basic phone.

It works, and it has good signal capture. I have seen it sold for as low as $40 in many places, and if that's the kind of thing you need, this is a good choice.

Love the looks but...

My husband has the older version of this phone and has loved it. When my contract was up i decided to get this phone.
I have been so dissapointed. It won't hold a charge for a whole day. I took it back to Verizon and they gave me a new battery. No Help!
They then sent me a new phone. It now holds the charge for about 8 hours of the day.It makes traveling with it a hassle.
I don't take many calls and rarely use the camera. I don't know why it won't stay charged.
I won't get another Motorola.
And I'm stuck for 2 years!

Nice Design but dont let that fool you

The phone has a nice design it looks good, but it does not have an external screen, the camera is terrible and its triband so don't get it for cingular/at&t, service will be bad.

The only good thing is that it has FM radio and comes with headset/headphones that has a mic on it so that when u get a call you can answer it with the same headset.
