Good phone for the price

Feb 15, 2009 by michelleg

Pros: Battery life great, ringtones loud, good reception, durable (mine's been dropped several times), can change color and size of screen display, camera, can record songs to use as ringtones.

Cons: Only comes in two colors (red & black), doesn't get true tones, not the greatest pictures

Overall this phone is great for the price you pay for it. I like that it is easy to use and has a few extras without being too confusing.

This phone sucks

I own 4 of these phones and 3 of them are crap. One phone is 10 months old and I've got the "Insert SIM Card" message. ATT says the phone is dead. Two of the other phones are about 4 months old and shut off spontaneously or re-boot for no reason. I;ll never buy a Samsung again.

this is a good phone

my husband and i went in to suncom last Saturday and we wanted to get new phone service and phones. well i asked for the ones that were free, and once i seen this samsung i just wanted it.
this phone is grate. i love the bigg screen, the bigg buttons, the thinness of it. and the ringer is loud on it to. i can seen text, and it is easy.

the only con is that to use the speaker phone you have to leave it open. ohh well. its not like its the end of the world.

plus i have read that some people have dropped theres and it broke. i have a 10 month old puppy and him and i go for walks. you know how many times i have dropped that phone and i have only had it for 4 days. and it is still in one peace. i don't know about them, but i love this phone.
love it love it love it

Solid Phone

I had the Motorola L7 prior to getting this phone. I am very pleased with it.

PROS:
-Good battery life
-Thin body
-Has T9 (I got sick of Motorola's iTap)
-Big display screen
-Fits comfortably in hand
-Big buttons (Great for texting!)
-Highly durable (I drop phones a lot but this one held up like a champ)
-Loud speaker
-Strong vibrate mode
-Holds a couple numbers for each name
-Customizable quick menu
-Allows you to turn bluetooth on or off (Turning it off saves the battery)
-Holds 200 text messages at a time (not including the 30 from your sim card)
-Loud ringtones (not to mention alarms)

CONS:
-Center button takes you to a web browser (took me a long time to get used to this since my old phone's center button was the menu)
-Low resolution (relatively speaking)
-Camera is a bit grainy
-Keypad shows all fingerprints (I hate fingerprints though- if that doesn't bother you than this isn't really a con)
-Doesn't have a tip calculator (or if it does, I couldn't find it)
-Unique charger (if you ever lose the charger that comes with this phone, good luck finding another one- the AT&T stores don't carry them)

Overall, I really like this phone. It's almost perfect for anyone who wants something of quality without all of the extra features you end up paying for when you try to get quality.

Samsung is my homeboy.

Sucks!

I am comparing this phone to my last Nokia.

Cons: My bill went up after getting this Samsung because the phone divides long text messages into subsequent messages, each I'm getting charged for, whereas my Nokia was able to send one long message. It sucks when it comes to my bluetooth. If i answer my phone using my bluetooth button, it will have a delayed answer. Also, there is no voice recognition, which comes in very handy when driving. I'm sure there are other cons, but I dont have the energy to type them all.

Pros: It's cute and thin.

Hard to hear, esp. while in motion. Easy to set up. Camera leaves a lot to be desired. Would not recommend if a camera is needed. Would not have this model again.
