GREAT Phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mar 30, 2007 by wp144

Perfect.
Just Good Enough For me!

Pros: Large Keypad makes me comfortable
while I am driving. Large Screen
is just perfect for VCAST SVC.
Great for teenagers!! but,
I would recommend it to almost anyone
looking for a good deal!

Cons: Too Slim~~~Too Sexy~~~

Excellent Phone

This phone is excellent.
I am very pleased that it is much more than I expected. In fact, it is superior to RZAR, at it is becoming somewhat boring design now.

Sound Quality is awesome.
Speaker sounds very good.
The phone is sturdy and easy to use with nice keypad. What I most like is that it fits comfortably well in my hand.

I luv it.

This phone is great

I've finally found a phone to replace my E815, and this is it.
Pros:
Great call quality
Small & light weight, even with extended battery
Great battery life (at least w/ extended battery)
Bluetooth

^Those are really the only things I wanted in a phone.

Cons:
While the speaker phone is loud and clear, callers often complain of echoing.

I love this phone!!!!!

I just recently upgraded to this phone but have used it enough to come up with what I really think of it. Here's my pros and cons so far:
PROS:
-Very sleek & thin design- fits in my pocket perfectly. It's easy to hold and dial one handed. The keypad is wonderful with larger buttons and a nice white back-light.
-Internal screen is big, bright, and colorful.
-The speakers on the front put out really good sound. I haven't put any music on it yet, and haven't tried the music player but I made a few ring-tones that sound really crisp and clear and loud.
-So far the reception has been pretty good in my apartment. With my last 2 phones, I was lucky to get 1 bar of signal and had to stand completely still or I'd lose a call- not with the u540. I'm getting 2 bars, sometimes 1 but it holds a signal really well even with an internal antenna. I live between 2 Verizon cell towers in Southeast Denver, so reception outside my apartment is pretty good. Never had any problems anywhere else.
-The camera takes pretty good pictures in my opinion. I kept comparing pics I took with my
old LG VX7000 and VX6000 and even in darker lighting, the u540's pics were brighter and more clear, obviously because of the 1.3 mega-pixels compared to the VGA cameras (7000/6000). I really like how the lens is covered by smooth glass rather than exposed like my 7000 is.
-This phone is fast when using the mobile web, sending texts and pics, and uploading ring-tones that I made.
CONS:
-Small-ish battery- but it's a thin phone, so the small battery makes sense. But if you make alot of calls or text, or if making it your mp3 player is a priority (I won't) then invest in the longer life battery.
-I keep activating the camera by accidentally pushing the outside camera button when the phone is open. It needs a lock for that feature- the music player buttons have a lock, though.
-Weak vibrate
I spent a few weeks deciding between the u540 or LG VX8300. I'm confident I made the right choice.

Battery Not So Good

Apr 23, 2007 by eddiez

I bought the phone 2 days ago and so far so good. Pro's are looks, the screen, the keypad ,the speakers, the mp3 player, the overall feel of the phone is great. The camera is great for taking pictures and video, very clear. The cons are the battery I've had the phone for 2 days and I've charged the battery 3 times with not many calls. I e-mailed samsung about this issue and waiting for an answer from them. I hope they do something about it. Maybe if more people contact them they might do something about it. Thankyou for reading my review. Eddie z

Not bad, does the job.

PROs: Good size dial pad making it easy to text and dial numbers without pushing 2 keys at once.
Very slim/sleek, doesn't take up much space in pocket, speakers are nice and loud with easy one-touch speaker phone.
Extra new features than my previous phone (LG8500).

CONS:
Camera shows images to be a little dark, not as clear as my previous phone.
Battery could be stronger.

When I transfered my Micro SD card over, the phone didn't recognize all the songs and what makes it more difficult is that currently, there is no Music Essentials Kit for this phone to sync songs.

Great Phone!

Ive had my U540 a week now and I love it. My only con is the flat keypad is a little hard to use but thats what you get in exchange for a thin phone, as far as battery life I'm ok with it. I have not had the problems a few others have posted here and in the forums section. I did put my phone in CDMA mode only cuz I don't use VCAST so this may help. Call and sound quality is great and I love the large screen. Bitpim does not yet support this phone but I was able to upload my address book using BitPim and manually setting to SCH-A650 but the media and ring tones did not transfer. I was able to easily transfer pix from the memory card to my computer. And I sent my ring tones using the @vzw.net messaging trick. I also was able to transfer MP3's to the memory card via a usb cable and WMP 11 sync.

Great Phone no worries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this phone!

I just upgraded to this phone from a Samsung a670, and I love it! The style is great and it feels nice in my hand. Some people are complaining about battery life, but I get 2 or 3 days on a charge with normal use. I'd recommend this phone for anyone that wants a good feature phone without a high price tag.

Pros:
- big, clear screen
- good camera
- slim and lightweight
- great speakers, LOUD ringer and earpiece
- very customizable, lots of fonts and options

Cons:
- weak vibration
- D-pad touches the screen and leaves a mark (I hate that!)
- can't set calendar reminders to "no alert"

I love it

I was deciding between the LG VX8300, Motorola RAZR and Samsung U540. I picked the U540 for it's slim style, build quality and overall performance. The battery life on my phone is very good/excellent, I'm not sure why others users are having problems. I have had this phone for about 2 weeks. I haven't tried the MP3 player yet.

Pros:
Slim and light weight.
Excellent reception. (So Cal)
Battery life is good.
Speakers are loud and clear.
Picture quality is excellent.
Nice, big screen.
Large key pads.

Cons:
No flash on camera. (not a big deal)
hmmmm......I think that's it.
