Samsung Alias

Jul 10, 2008 by enieledam28

I just got my Sam sung Alias, in black, a few days ago, so I am still playing with it and working out how to use it.

Pros:
-Small, thin, sleek design
-Sturdy, much better than my Moto Razr
- Full QUERTY keyboard, great for text messaging, which I do a lot of.
- Many fun options with the display and menu.
- clear sound
- decent pictures for a camera phone
- the double hinge is so cool. If you just want to make a call use the portrait view, or if you're going to be messaging use the landscape view.
- the number keys are highlighted to make it easier to dial when you're not using the full keyboard
-mp3 capable, albeit I haven't downloaded any music yet.
**All together, so far, I love it! I love how small it is, yet it has the full keyboard! I like the double hinge option too!

Cons:
I really don't have any cons with the phone. My only disappointment was to download mp3's, I need to buy an additional kit, to receive the USB cord and CDROM.
I read many of these reviews before deciding to buy. I haven't experienced any of the cons listed, and am very happy with my phone so far.

Great phone

I have had this phone for 5 months now (the black version) and love it! Battery life is great, the size is incredibly small, and the overall usability of the phone is unsurpassed (except for the venerable LG 8300).

The keypad is a little difficult to get used to, but if you just stick with it for a while, you will be able to use it just fine.

Love it!

Like the phone but could be better....

I got this phone when my other phone dropped in the water but than i lost this phone. It's a pretty good phone and I'm sure you'll all enjoy it.

PROS:
1. Has two keypads, one has full text the other you have to click it three times to get a letter.
2. Web is good.
3. MP3 Player if you pay.
4. Small and easy to fit in your pocket.
5. Holds A LOT of pictures.
6. Signature goes up to 15 characters.
7. You can change the dial font.

CONS:
1. VERY slow at accessing anything.
2. Pictures aren't very good.
3. Texts don't always send so you have to resend them.

It's not a very good phone i have seen better but it's pretty good if you only need a temporary phone.

u740--nice phone

I love this phone for the functionality and size. I mean, full qwerty in a phone the size of a razr! yeah! Everything works when I want it to, no programming glitches and I have had this phone for 4 months. Also, having it 4 months, I have dropped it several times and it never broke. I did have to have it replaced when i smashed it between my leg and a table. My fault, I don't expect phones to stand up to that. The only reason i give it a 4 is the reception. I live in Montana, which Verizon covers the best, and don't get reception where I used to with my razr.

Pros-

-sweet qwerty (i am a big man and just use the corners of my thumbs)

-functions all the time, everything works

-battery life is great (i get minimum two days unless i am roaming)

Cons-

-Battery life when roaming, this phone tries too hard to get its own towers

-reception is not as good as most other phones

for lovers of messages into something compact

15 mm full qwerty keyboard and main TFT screen with up to 262 thousand colors, Chamber of 1.3MP with Flash, zoom, autofocus and video recording integration with GPS
Memory of 60MB
MicroSD slot
Lithium Ion battery of 800 mAh
Autonomy of 3 ½ hours in use, 200 hours standby
The Samsung mobile is very handy and easy to use when used in landscape mode and you can use your keyboard of two ways without having to turn anything on the keyboard or below another extra benefit and only have to open the screen in another address. This feature is perfect for writing e-mails or surfing the internet.

ONLY OKAY

I bought this phone simply because I love to text! I thought I was getting what I wanted! Yeah, at first I LOVED it. BUT! After a few weeks, I just couldn't get used to the TINY keypad you have to use in order to send a text. You have to rotate it in order to use GET IT NOW, Mobile Web, and many other features. When you go to make a phone call in "regular" rotation, it will litterly cross your eyes when dialing the number. The sound quality is terrible in the MP3 player. When in "MP3" mode, you have NO options what so ever. You can't choose to repeat a song, shuffle, the sound effects, etc. It's just horrible. I am totally dissatisfied with it. I traded my chocolate phone in for this one. I can't say as I liked the chocolate better(only because the touch screen was so sensitive). This phone is just a joke. I bet LG laughs at Samsung for even attempting to make a competition with EnVy. I really wish I would've gotten the envy. With the EnVy, you actually have A PHONE WITH A NORMAL KEYPAD and then you flip the phone and you have a much bigger keypad and the vibration on the Envy is VERY VERY VERY powerful and the sound is freaking awesome!! I would've gotten the envy, but it was out of my price range. Now I'm stuck with this crappy samsung. That has terrible sound, oh and not to mention HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE battery life(I mean, I put it on the charger over night, and when I get up to go to work, I take it off the charge and 3-4 hours later.. It's almost dead), it has very very low vibration even when on the highest setting. I really have nothing good to say about this phone. The keypad is just too small. Often I type 2 letters instead of one and have to hit the backspace key numerous times. I thought this phone was supposed to make texting easier? Boy, I was wrong! Nice try, Samsung..but I think LG has the lead! Just wait until I get the money to get the EnVy. Then I will be completely happy. Thank you.

Dangerous for Avid Texters

Feb 27, 2008 by RoRo

I love this phone on all accounts but just wanted to send a friendly warning to all those compulsive texters who may, too frequently, turn to text messaging to avoid real communication- this phone is dangerous! You may be tempted to replace all types of live communication aside when you see how easy it is to just text your thoughts with this phone... DON'T DO IT! Enjoy... but exercise with caution... or the only person you'll be texting is yourself :)

THIS PHONE IS THE BEST BY FAR

I simply love this phone! Amazing. It has all the features that you can ask for. Texting is a breeze on it because of the full keyboard. Some say it is hard but I don't think it is at all. The clarity of the calls are fantabulous!! Ringtones are crisp and clear. If you want a great phone get this one!!

Great Phon

This phone is excellent.

Pros: Everything works great, the speaker phone is extra loud, as are the ringtones. Texting is awesome. The battery life has been great. For the way the phone flips it has been very solid. Very good phone by Samsung.

Cons: Small buttons, but hey on a phone like this how are you going to get around that?
