Run, Don't Walk

Oct 6, 2006 by foneskuper

Great phone, don't hesitate unless you really want a missing feature. It's solid, great quality. So slim and light, you'll forget which pocket it's in.

Pros:
Bright screen.
Look and feel.
Sound quality.
Speakerphone quality.
Reception is strong.
Menus are decent, could be improved a little but nothing you can't live with.
T9 is awesome (my first time to have it).

Cons:

NO FM Radio. Bad.

Ringtones suck. --->>>> get a data cable (only, $10) and download the Samsung PC Studio -- this application can handle 100% of everything on the phone, and is really great. Use it to transfer ringtones, MP3, etc.

The 'covers' on the two slots are held on by a little rubber band. Absolutely stupid and going to break eventually. They could have made a slider or swivel slot cover.

The Camera software feature is dorky and stupid. The design to try to make you use the online My Album for pics, and the browser text size, suck. I ignore web browsing and most of the extra stuff anyhow.

MOST CON: If you like vibrate and ring to work together, the phone vibrates for a while, and the rings follows. If you don't feel the vibe, by the time it rings and you hear it, you'll probably miss your call. I think Samsung should fix this in a patch.

Hot Tip: ---->
Tell T-Mobile cust service on the phone that you found a better phone/plan for cheaper with another carrier, but it's close. For people who are about to leave, they switch you customer retention. (This is with any large company. Try it with your credit card.) They gave me another $50 off, changed the rebate from mail-in to instant, and clipped it to a one year plan renewal. (Final $100/1 yr.) They said I had to have the phone mailed. They made a record. I called the store, and they said OK come in, well give it to you here.

Best of Best

The Samsung T519 is the hottest phone out there right now. The phone is an instant head turn-er and people are always asking me what kind of phone it is. If you don't like being notice or don't like attention, don't get this phone!!!!!!!!

PROS- Music Player is [great]
- Plays Videos Like no other
- Phone is not to light
- Attracts people (esp Women)
- Awesome Silvery Goldish Color
- Loud Ringtones
- Can convert Mp3 to ringtones
- Has a Micro SD Slot

CONS- The direction pad is almost useless
- Battery Life is decent
- Ringtones are Garabge

The Pros out weigh the Cons so, Yeah it's a go. Go ahead to your local T-Mobile Store ($99 w/ rebate) or Amazon (for a penny) and get this phone.

Best Phone I've Had So Far!

Oct 3, 2006 by j_tay

The Samsung Trace is probably one of the best phones out in the U.S. market today. It is sleek, light, and has almost everything that a phone should do and lots more.

I got this phone mainly because of the fact it had an MP3 player so I don't have to carry around a MP3 player and my phone at the same time (kill two birds with one stone concept). Also, the price was absolutely great ($100 with a two-year contract with T-Mobile). But I didn't really know until I purchased it that it is a great camera phone as well! I also don't have to carry a camera with me. My little sister had so much fun playing with all the nooks and crannies of this phone. And I was shocked on how great the quality was for the video recorder! This phone may be little, but it packs a lot of punch.

Also, I get great reception on this phone! My caller's voice sounds clearer and crisper. I use the speaker function on phones a lot and the speaker mode is quite good. It's a little lower on the volume, but at least I don't hear as much static (unlike my last phone which was a Nokia).

It took a while for me to get used to this phone, however. But then again, this is my first Samsung phone. I've had Nokia, Motorola, and LG phones (also an old school Qualcomm phone, but I guess Qualcomms are on obsolete status now) so I'm used to their features, but Samsung is a bit different. The user guide was not really helping much, so I just explored this phone's features mostly on my own. I'm not pleased with the phone lock feature (you can still make calls even when the phone is locked unlike Nokia's, Moto's and LG.) so I am a little freaked out about making accidental phone calls (Made about two accidental phone calls so far).

But otherwise, I love this phone!

Pros:
- Thin, stylish, and light
- Great camera/video recorder
- Easier texting
- Sound is clearer
- Great reception
- Tons of great features
- Great price

Cons:
- User guide is not user-friendly
- Lock system >=[
