It Pretty Much SUCKS.......BIG ONES

Feb 24, 2004 by jesleg

This phone is not worth the money they are asking for it. The worst part about it is that it is supposed to be great because it is a camera phone, however the pictures and most of the displays on the phone are grainy and unclear.
This phone lacks many features and just makes it an over priced lower than average phone.

Will never buy a motorola again.

AT&T / Suncom just recently came out with a flip phone that was internet capable, so I thought great, I can finally get a flip phone. If I only knew then what I know now, I would have never paid the amount of money I did. The phone dropped 10 of my calls within a four day period. I couldn't get a signal anywhere. It would text message me when I had a voice mail, so I would have to read the freakin text and then check my voice mail. I had a Nokia 8265 before the motorola which I loved, so I decided to take the phone back and get a newer Nokia. When I took it back the sales rep says to me, "Yeah it doesn't work well in buildings" !!!!!! I had to pick my mouth off the ground. I was thinking to myself, why would you sell a phone that doesn't work well in buildings??? Last time I checked the whole point of a cell phone is to be able to talk while in route or at a location other than your home which is most likely going to involve a building. The only thing I liked about the phone was the voice dialing. I exchanged it for a Nokia 6560 which I love. No more Motorolas for this girl!!!! P.S. AT&T can't handle GSM phones.

Overpriced piece of crap

When I did the TDMA to GSM switch with Cingular, I was overly excited and bought it for $350 bucks when it just came out. This phone is the worse. It kept shutting off by itself, the battery is awful, the reception is dismal... you name it... the worse you can imagine about it. I ended up finding a new V60 on eBay and I am forever relieved.

It works!

As a tech. for a lage Cingular agent I have suggested this phone to almost all of my friends, family and business accounts. In this industry you are going to find a bad egg once in a while, but none to the extent that you may hear. it has a gret color screen and pretty much no antenna to break. One thing I can say is that in the beginning there was a small recall of this model but after that it has been very good. Most respected places would have known this and taken the few recalled ones off the shelves. All I suggest is get it and try it for a few days let the phone speak for itself.

with all the technology..

This phone is terrible. I only had this phone for 4 days before I decide to get rid of it. I thought I just got a bad phone so I traded it in...same problems.

PROS: Good looking, nice screen, size, lots of rings(but sound bad), lots of accessories, able to customize buttons

CONS: The voice calling never worked, can't save numbers on the phone and SIM at the same time, the back light on the keys turnoff as soon as you hit a button, ring is not loud enough, sound quality sucks, speaker sounds like it is blown out, can't answer/hang up with button on ear bud, single digit dialing is crap, menus suck...on and on.

I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. I see now why Cingular is offering $100 rebates for this phone. There's no way to sell this thing for $150.

I traded up to a LG G4050 and couldn't be happier. One of the best looking phones out there, perfect size, user friendly, not many rings but sounds 10 times better that the T720, easy to navigate, great screen, external display is a fantastic feature(show date, time, caller ID etc. No issues so far with the LG 4050

Moto T720

I received this phone before it was released to the general public. So far, so good!! Definitely a nice upgrade from my Motorola V60. The resolution on the screen is excellent; very well illuminated in either daylight or darkness with its 5000 color screen. It supports GPRS and also has a full e-mail client. Since we have launched GSM technology in the Baltimore/Washington Market, it has been the best seller. The only thing I am disappointed with is the fact that the phone does not have Caller Groups, which was a nice feature when I used the Nokia 8260 two years ago.

Motorola T720 with AT&T GSM

I have had the T720 for only 7 months and am very unhappy with the amount of calls being dropped and disconnected. AT&T customer service reps acknowledges a problem with the T720 but will not replace it because I haven't had it for 1 year. The inconvenience and amount of calls dropped outweigh any positive features of this phone.

try again

I bought this phone back in April, very excited to have a Motorola flip phone. I have been miserable ever since. Every call I make or receive gets dropped. Once the call is dropped, I can't disconnect the call, and continues to use my minutes. The phone doesn't like to shut off, and when it finially does, it doesn't like to turn back on. And the GSM service is terrible. I wish I had stuck with my Nokia digital/analog phone...

Ok but...

The Motorola T720 is ok but there isn't much to do with it. I liked the idea of having a flip phone and I liked having the polyphonic ring tones available. But it was a little complicated with the Sim card and everything. The coverage for Cingular in Lower New Castle County (Delaware)stinks so the phone wasn't developed enough to be down here. Also in the other places I'm usually at, it doesn't work there either. Plus I could barely hear what anyone was saying, even with the volume all the way up. If you live where I live, don't go with Cingular as a carrier. Verizon is by far the best.
