I posted th is on the razr forum but thought I might get more information if I posted it her as well.

I thought I had my decision made. I am looking to get a new phone QUICK and was really liking the LG 8600. I saw someone with a RAZR the other day and really liked it. I don't know if they had a newer version or not. Is there any newer version for Verizon other than the V3M? If so, what is the difference.

SO, my main question is:

Any opinions on which is better? I like the UI on the LG 8600 better ,but really like Motorola phones and already have the accessories...chargers, etc. for Motorola. HOWEVER, if the 8600 is far and beyond better, please say so! I want to make the right decision.

I have the 8600, my wife has the razr. I personally like the 8600 better. Both phones are a decent phone as far as how they work. The main difference I can think of off hand is the 8600 has a sd card that you can use, if that is of interest to you. Plus you can get a micro sd card for it for $16 shipped to your door. I also like the way it sounds when I talk on my 8600 versus the razr. The razr has kind of a talk back thing going on, it is tolerable. Also, battery life on the 8600 walks all over the razr. The battery on the razr is horrible.

They both work equally as good when it comes down to using it as phone. They both grab a signal. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, just ask, as we have both, so I can compar...

Hey! Thanks for answering !

Just how horrible is the battery on the razr? I mean talk time from a full charge, how long?

I went to two different Verizon stores today and all of the sales reps said DON'T buy the Rzr because of the battery. The LG 8600 they recommended as long as I wasn't going to be interested in the speakerphone. My big problem now with the LG is that I have all of the chargers and such for the Motorola but will have to buy the stuff for the LG. PLUS, boy does that phone look a mess when it's touched! I'll be it scratches easily. Any ideas on that one? I really like the phone. Wish it would go on sale!!!

I would say on the battery, 100 minutes puts a pretty good toll on the battery for the razr. It does not last long at all. The LG8600 will last a lot longer. Speaker phone on lg works ok in a quiet enviroment. I understand that it is nice to have all the chargers on hand for the razr.

I dont know about the scratching part, but I suppose it is like any other phone, it can be damaged. I have mine in the leather case, if you dont like leather cases, then that is a problem. I always say leather cases act as a protector for any phone. I also have the extended battery, with that and the leather case, you can hardly tell that there is an extended battery on there, and with the extended battery, I can get 4 to 5 hours of talk time out of i...

As far as the scratching issue, I use an Invisible Shield (http://www.shieldzone.com) and it works great. It actually made some existing scratches on my phone disappear so that was bonus.
