I dont get it, when a new phone comes out everyone has to run and go get it. Verizon is very good with software updates for customer complaints and so on. Sometimes a phone does come out and is good from the get go, but not too often. I usually wait about 6 months to see how a new phone really comes along....Usually the bugs need to be worked out! I alway's notice the reviews get better in time after the software has been updated to satisfaction. Just my opinion. I love my vx8300 and I am sure the vx8600 will be just fine.

Thanks, Steven in SoCal.

If you wait 6 monthes it is no longer a "new phone" in my personal opinion. I do agree that sometimes there are glitches, but the software gets updated for you anyways and you still have a warranty as well.... WHY wait GO GET ONE ITS GREAT

Hello this is America land of the attitude that you have to have everything as soon as it comes out. Do you really think any of us tech geeks would wait 6 months to try out a phone? I don't even keep a phone for 6 months.

Software upgrades are done by any Verizon Wireless owned corporate store. They take up to 15 (maybe 20 minutes) to upload on your phone. All you have to do is call a Verizon Store, tell them what kind of phone you have and they can tell you whether or not there is a new software version. Make sure to NOT call them on your own cellphone because they may want to check what S/W version is already in your phone. You could also walk in to any corporate owned store and they can check. How often do you do this? As often as new software is available, or you can call every month or every other month to check for new updates.
Customer service reps might be able to help, but usually Tech Support is better.
