Why is the speakerphone such a big deal? Do you all really use it that much? I never use it.

well, some like to use the speakerphone in a car while driving instead of having one of those ridiculous looking headsets attached to their faces. Others might like to use it when on a call and they need to write something down or if they are placed on hold so they don't have to have the phone pressed against their ear for god knows how long. It's just that after the very good speakers and speakerphone of the 8100 and the 8300, it's frustrating to see this one so poorly designed and implemented.

hey listen i agree that the speaker phone needs to be louder. but your using the wrong words, poorly designed???? this phone is beautiful. And another thing not everybody uses the speaker phone it has bluetooth so you dont even have to hold the phone. But if you need a speakerphone to take down notes are something like that its fine. But once it gets noisy its harder to here it. I think its a software issue though cuz i have played mp3 songs on it and the speaker is definetly alot louder, weird i know.

yes, I said poorly designed and I meant it. It is a very nice looking phone but the speaker should have been larger, even stereo, and should have been placed on the sides of the phone. It is impractical to put a tiny little slit on the lid and escpecially since LG won't let us use the speakerphone with the goddamn flip closed. It's a beautiful phone with a design flaw that's all I am saying.

I agree, they released this phone way to soon without the proper thought

You sound like a moron with your obvious prejudicial dissent.
You have already seen others say this phone preceded the RZR and KRZR. This hasn't been a quick release, this model has been out for a long time.

Who cares how "soon" they released it? Speakerphones are not some new innovation. It's a no brainer, if you're going to put one in the phone, make sure it works. The KRZR speakerphone works great, so does the 8300. Don't do it half-assed, especially in a phone that appears to aspire to be more than a freebie you get for signing up.
