8600 Discontinued?

It still seems like this phone just came out yesterday to me but apparently Verizon has pulled this phone off of its website and I've read over on hofo that the 8600 has been discontinued.

Will there be another phone in the line of 8600's maybe a lg vx8650 down the line? or is the 8700 gonna be the official replacement?

I hope theres another one i like being able to read the texts messages with the flip closed, and has more bluetooth features enabled like the file transfer from phone to phone like the 8700 has.

are there any other known future LG's on verizon's horizon?

Yea I just noticed the 8600 isn't on the website either! I have an 8100 and am debating whether to upgrade to the 8600 or the new Chocolate. I tried the 8700 for a month and returned it. Just didn't fall in the love with it enuf to commit to it for another 2 yrs. I am wondering if I should hold out a little while longer for another new LG phone.

FYI, Just found out from VZW rep that the 8600 is out of stock, not discontinued. He doesn't know when they will have more, although the stores might have some stock.

Can anyone confirm if the 8600 will be available again online or not? If so, you would think they would have left it up and just stated it is currently out of stock.

I had the same problem. It wasn't on the Verizon website anymore.

I'm not sure if it's discontinued but I just ordered one over the phone last week. The rep told me that same thing. That they were low in stock. I looked in a few stores and they weren't displayed anymore. After I ordered it online, I had to go to the store to buy some accessories and it was displayed again.

Just call customer service and you can order it through them.

From all the stores I talked to, corporate and agents, and telesales, they all say that the 8600 is discontinued. I would be happy if verizon brought back the 8600, it is a good phone. I just got one at wal mart for $50 for a back up. See my other post, LG8600.

The rumor is also that the 8300 is also on the discontinued list. I have not confirmed that one, just what I heard.
