Phone powering down to prevent battery overheat

Hi all. My Env (with verizon) just recently started saying "Phone powering down to prevent battery overheat" and it shuts off, when I restart it, it tells me it had to shut down for that reason and it will run for about 30 seconds before it shuts off again. It does this every single time I use it. I've used 2 different batteries and it still does it.

I dont recall it being exposed to extreme heat (not even over 90 degrees in my pocket) So I don't know how or why this is could be happening. The phone was running off of just the charger, so i figured it must have been the battery, but now its not even doing that. I really don't want to have to claim this on my insurance because its $50 to do so, which I dont have to spare, it cost me $80 t...

Quick update.....I sprayed inside the charging port and inside the battery compartment down one of the air-duster cans and the phone seems to be working. Regardless I think I should get a replacement. But is there a reason why the air might have fixed the problem (even if temporarily)
