Can I use my enV as a modem for my laptop?

I presently have an EVDO Verizon PC (Kyocera KPC650) card so I can access the internet on my laptop. If I were to get rid of that card, could I access the internet via my enV? If it's possible, what sort of connector/cable would I need to connect from the enV to my laptop? Also, what sort of software would I need to use the enV as a modem to access the internet?

I realize the enV connection will be extremely slow compared to my present Kyocera PC card, but that's okay, because I'll only need to utilize the enV as a modem about 2 hours/week.

Thanks

you would be able to. u need a seperate plan for phone as modem. the speed is pretty comparable. you only need the usb cable, and the vz access mgr which u would already have if u have the pc card. hope this helps.

😳 No you can't use the VZ Access manager for the env. VZ ACCESS manager is tailor-made for each different aircard.

Get the mobile office kit, call your store or customer care and ask for Broadband Access Connect (aka tether your phone).

The phone doesn't come with an USB cable, that's what the mobile office kit is for. Tethering is $60/month, so it'll cost the same as your air card.

You can download the correct vz access manager for your phone from vzam.net (it stands for vz access manager.net) 🙂
