Card capacity

Does anybody know how large a microSD / TransFlash card this phone work with? 128mb will not be enough for me. Sprint is telling me 1 GB is the max but I wonder if they're giving me a "safe answer".....

I have heard it's up to 2 GB. But i'm still using the included 64 MB one.

I took a chance. I figured I could always return it and exchange it for a 1gb. Well I put it in and initialized it and it seemed to work fine. Of course it shows 1.98gb which is typical. I assume a 1gb would show .9 something. Of course I haven't tried to use it yet.

I've successfully linked to my PC and have copied pictures and musing files to the phone. Erased them...moved them with no problems. The memory used selection seems to indicate all is going fine and as expected.
(Now if I could just figure out how to assign mp3's or even mid files as ringers that I could copy over rather than be forced to download their crap things would be fine.)

try using one of the free uploaders from this page:

http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/links.php#uploaders »

that is if you have a data plan. some send text messages (sprintusers.com) some don't (t1mmy.net) so you can avoid text charges if you don't have a texting package. (like me)

As far as I know, the ringers can only be assigned from phone memory, not the memory card (maybe it has to do with the slower read access of a memory card), so you'd be limited to 60mb of ringers/applications.

I used t1mmy.net earlier today and it worked fine.
As for what you said here:
"As far as I know, the ringers can only be assigned from phone memory, not the memory card (maybe it has to do with the slower read access of a memory card), so you'd be limited to 60mb of ringers/applications."
Your giving Sprint too much credit. If it were possible to store ringers to the memory card then it would also be possible to copy ringers to the memory card from computer. Sprint doesn't want you to do that. They want you to buy them from them. That is I'm sure why you don't have the option to store them there.

Personally I feel I can totally recommend using 2gb Cards in these phones. The one I'm using is working flawlessly. 😁
