This phone is slightly helpful to parents, but fails in ways that would be most helpful to parents. As with many products, there are marketing gimicks attached, such as some press releases for the phone referring to "full parental controls". In fact, the phone offers parental control only in the area of determining who the child can call and who can call the child. It also has the ability to limit the use of data services. Finally, it has a "family locater" service that you can use to get some idea of where your child is (if they have the phone on them). Although these options are certainly welcome, I think most parents have a problem with their children's OVERUSE of their phone. What parents would like to see is the ability to autom...

If you absolutely NEED to have the call restriction (as far as minutes are concerned) then Disney mobile is the only carrier that has that option as of yet. I half anticipate another carrier picking it up, but I'm only speculating. But... for what its worth, after working with Sprint services for a while, its ussually not overages of minutes that kill the bill, its the extra things like music downloads, ringtones and other data associated things that notch the bill up because overages are only $.10/min with Sprint as it is.
