I broke down and ordered the extra life battery. I sure hope it works better then the reg. one. I have tried every suggestion on here for battery life and nothing works. I even had a new phone sent to me and the same thing.

The other post on the main page about your wallpaper being saved to the phone vs the memory card made a HUGE difference for me...I mean HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same for me!!!!!!!!!! I can go for days now without having to charge (I tried it), even though I do still do so at night. I don't listen to mp3's with the phone (only a short 10-15 sec clip to let me know that I still know how to do it). Overall, I am MUCH happier with this phone now.

Once again, for me, changing the wallpaper pix from my card to the phone memory made ALL the difference in the world. Good Luck...

My battery life doubled by turning off bluetooth when I'm not using it.

I created a shortcut with one of the directional keys. It takes me right to the bluetooth on/off screen.

Good Luck.

You also must remember that service level has to do with battery life. I bet you either live/travel/work in a poor service area if your battery really does die all the time. The lower the service level, the faster the battery will die. Other than keeping the display timers set to a lower time, and the wallpaper on the phone, the battery should work fine unless its a defective battery.

How long is it lasting also? When you first purchase a phone the battery will last longer, and over time not last as long.

just out of curiosity, how often do you charge the battery? if you charge the battery too much it'll fry it out, giving it a life span of little to nothing. some people will put their phone back on their charger after, say, a long conversation, after losing a bar, after using the mp3 player for awhile, etc. and the battery loses its ability to hold a charge. it's best to let a battery, any battery, run down all the way (or as close as you can get to it) before charging it. it'll hold its life longer. at least let it get down to the point where it's beeping/flashing.

i've had my phone for 10 months, and in the beginning was having a horrible time with the battery life. i took the phone back to verizon 3 times and they changed the battery twice and the phone once and the battery life never got better. then i found info online about disabling the EVDO (don't even know what that is!). i don't use v-cast (read below), so i didn't care about that. my battery life was at least 10 times better after i changed this setting.

-- How to disable EVDO... This can help with battery life if your phone constantly switches between 1x and EVDO because you are on the "edge of coverage" BUT you can't use vCast, and your Get-it-Now, MMS Messaging, WAP, and other data services will be slower -> From the phone's menu...
