After doing some consumer research I am possibly planning to buy the LG VX-8500. I like this phone because of it's features especially the music player. I love to listen to music non stop. Having a music player within a mobile phone is awesome and convenient. So my concern is that Verizonwireless.com stated that it doesn't support 2.5mm headset and that it comes with an adapter. For the ones who have this phone, could you explain this adapter and what it does. I am thinking that the adapter must be used in order to use a 2.5mm headset. With that said is it possible to connect the phone with regular listening headphones by purchasing another adapter?

it comes with an adapter like the razrs and nokia that plug into the charger port, which converts into a 2.5 m jack. Kind of a pain to have something to carry around with your headsets, but you gotta try the stereo bluetooth. sounds amazing!!

If u like a music player, this is the first phone I have come across that you can call a music player, build your own playlists with no limits, eq, plays music while running the phone, different skins. Ive used LG6000,8100,8300 9800 and by far this is one of my favs!!

The adapter that LG includes with the phone allows you to connect a regular 2.5 mm headset to the phone to use the old style earpices/stereo earphones.

Both the LG Chocolate and the Moto Razr V3M are built without the standard 2.5 mm headset jack, but only the LG Chocolate gives you the option to use Bluetooth Stereo headsets to go completely wireless.

The Bluetooth Stereo headsets typically retail for an additional price of about $129.99 + taxes.
Hope this helps.

yeah but if you are cheap like me then just leave the adaptor plugged in the headphones then you don't have to carry it around.

the adaptor is to make a standard 2.5 jack. With that said it should be possible to plug a converter in there to fit whatever you want in there.

I don't know if that link worked but just check out the accessories available on verizon's website. They also have a 2.5 to 3.5 converter if that is what you where looking for. It is $15

Thank you all for the replies, they were very helpful and quick too! Now my research is done completely for the chocolate, and I am sure I will be purchasing it soon with a microSD. I did look into bluetooth headsets, specifically the Motorola HT820, this is like a must have item! I just have to decide if I want the HT820 or buying a 2.5mm to 3.55mm converter.
This is the phone i've been waiting for a long time, I am sure to be happy with the purchase. It's too bad there is no speakerphone, but I can live without it, although it would be another plus if it was included. I've read that there are people trying to activate it, I think it is possible but we'll have to see.
