A> The VX-8300 can handle MP3s just fine...**

B> The 8300 has a Graphics Equalizer for use in the MP3 mode...

C> This Equalizer has 7 presets (they are very good)... NO custom setting

D> The front media keys can be set to be used with your MP3s instead of the WMA files...

E> Bluetooth Stereo Headset Output is available with MP3s...

F> Output to the onboard stereo speakers is "Good" at low to mid volume...

G> Output to a wired stereo headset is "Very Good" (Not Excellent)... (adapter available from VZW for $14.95, free shipping)

Get a MicroSD card (256MB minimum)... put it in the phone - turn the phone OFF then turn the phone ON - It will then have the needed folders on it... Using a card reader and your PC, load your M...

Yes... Of course...

But... There have been repeated erroneous comments in this forum regarding the media features of the 8300 versus the 8500...

Just wanted to make sure the facts were clear as to what was really available on the 8300...

BTW... I am not promoting or endorsing either phone... overall they are both "very good"...

One clarification, output to onboard stereo speakers is INCREDIBLE at HIGH volume. At least my phone is.

The reason that I would not give the onboard speakers anything above a "very good" is that there is greatly diminished response below 150cps... which is still very good for such small audio drivers... and the full music spectrum response of the onboard mini-speakers is far from flat, with high outputs spikes around 650, 800 and 1200cps... (and yes, I do have a audio spectrum analyzer and MP3 test files)...

The considerable audio distortion and lack of flat response at high volume would make calling the result "INCREDIBLE" somewhat of a stretch...

Listen to the same file through the speakers and then with a GOOD headset... the difference is quite clear to anyone without hearing problems...

I disagree. Considering this is a cell phone and speakers that small. The sound and quality is amazingly loud and clear.
