Mobile Web and Modem Question

I currently have a CDM9900 which I use mobile web to read email, IM and as an emergency modem when needed. All of this just burns air time. Can you use the 700p in the same way or are you required to buy a data package? Guess I should look at a RAZR if this is required. 40$ is what I pay for road runner, and this would be no where near that bandwidth.

Thanks in advance.

The 700p uses it’s own broadband connection. At Verizon, you can add it to your voice plan for $45/mo. For an extra $15/mo, you can connect the 700p to your laptop and use it as a USB broadband modem. You will also have to purchase software like “USB Modem” for about $25.

With either Mobile Web or a data service, you will have to purchase some kind of “plan” to avoid the airtime charges.

Verizon was offering the 700p for $399 if you add the data plan. I don’t know if they are still doing it. For me, the advantage of having broadband for both my phone and laptop makes the cost of the data plan worth it.
