I'm not sure it's linked to the slide opening, but at least in music mode, music keys light up and become available.

That whole area around the d-pad is actually a touch-pad, like LG's Chocolate. Different LEDs light up to indicate different "keys" you can touch depending on the context.

because it's e900 the media keys are hidden just like the LG Chocolate and also it's 2.0 mega pixel, and it looks so much nicer and slicker than the d807 buddy it's the competition of the Chocolate and there's microSD card slot too
