I hate all flip phones.

I love my old Nokia bars. I will never buy another flip phone again.

... to me it looks like every other flip phone... has anyone had any hands-on experience with this phone to be making these assumptions... people are saying that it looks cheap and everything... no one know because no one has any hands-on with the device... pantech has been making handsets for a long time and they compete with some of the larger manufacturers... just because they are not well known in the us gives no one any right to talk bad about the products... they know what they are doing...

Agreed...the "it's ugly" and "I hate flip phone" comments are purely subjective and without merit or value to this thread.

Let's wait until someone here gets their hands on them, or shoot over to howardforums where people have actually gotten this phone.

i have used it and it is a very nice phone. the size is great and it is a lot thinner than i thought it would be. durable as well. i like it and it is very easy to use. emailing isnt as nice as having a full qwerty but it gets the job done. i think the screen is sharp too and browsing the net with full webpages is nice. it is just like the q just in a flip phone with no scroll wheel or keypad. how can it be ugly when it is just silver and black like 95% of all phones? seriously get a life

I've had the phone for over a month and I am still in love. I wrote a review when I first got it and my opinion has not changed. I purchased the extended battery and it feels more like a normal phone. With the standard battery, it's light as a feather. This is by far the BEST phone/smartphone I have ever owned. I've had the following phones: Samsung i300, Samsung i500, Samsung i600, Chocolae, Q (5 of them!), LG 9800, LG env, more (but older stuff I can't remember). The big negative is that it is not very stylish. But it's not horrible. I think the photos look worse than it is.

i got one a couple days before it was released. i used it for one day and went back to my lg vx9900 (env, my biggest complaints were that the os was extremily slow, there was no video record function (only camera) there was no task manager function (you get too many things rolling at once and it freezes up), pantech uses crappy lg chargers and charging ports. reception was nothing like my lg. one thing that i didn't mind however was the minisd, it's easier to hold. my opinion, get the q pro when it comes out. this thing is a roach, pantech all together makes junk (gsm and cdma). why nokia would put their name on a cdma pantech blows me away. no point in paying for a data plan of $44.99 for this. hope this helps. 5/10

the video function is easy to get to. the one thing i liked about it was the ability to control the camera functions with the keypad. hit 2 to turn on the flash and hit 1 to make it video and other keypad functions instead of going through a menu and doing it. it was quick to turn everything off and on. it wasnt rocketscience. i have not had any slowness at all because the programs do close out unlike the q. that is why there is no task manager at all. i have had nothing but good success with it so far

I am very interested in buying this new smartphone. I stopped by the mobility store the other day and was quite take with it. Although they are different formats, I am stuck between the new Pantech and the Motorolla Q. Which one should I buy?

the q has been around for a while... IMO i would give this device a few months for them to get the kinks fully worked out before purchasing...

Have you used the Q? I have read that it has a poor battery life and that it has been known to freeze while processing web pages.

Have used the q and now the pn820.

The only thing the q has over the pn820 is the qwerty keyboard.

Other than that pn820 all the way in my opinion.

I am replacing all the user phones in my unit with the pn820.

You know, this thread has people saying things like 'get a life' and 'its ugly' to eachother. I agree that the thing is not a revolution in design. Hell its not really even trying to look good.

But its not much different than some of the audiovox stuff of recent vintage. Anyone remember Verizon's 8900 and 8910? What about the Thera? And look at pantech.s currnt models, industry wide. Theyre up and down as far as quality goes, but they are universally poor on style and design. For those of you who dont know, the good folks at pantech were manufacturers and designers of most of audiovox's line up until the merger with UT Starcom. And guess what... They still build some starcom equipment. They also make the guts for many manufacturer...
