Updating the Media Library

I have noticed that when I attempt to update the library with the complete list of mp3's on my storage card, it is able to locate all the files but ceases to perform when it gets to the "Adding Files" step. It allows me to cancel and the phone performs fine otherwise. I have the new ROM update, latest Activesync, etc so I don't understand why it hasn't worked for me yet. Any help?

The reason why is because your phone writes a file to the memory card, indicating what songs are on the phone. Go to your file explorer & select storage card. Delete the MSMETDATA folder. Then go back into the media player & update the library. THis will fix it. Each time you updtae the media library, you will have to delete the MSMETDATA folder. Its a pain, but it works...

I checked the explorer and found no such file. I've seen it before, when I had a blackjack, but not this time. I have found an alternative to playing all my music without updating the library, but it would be nice if this worked. ๐Ÿคจ

I looked into it further & you have to do something to view this file. Open your file explorer & view the root menu for the storage card. Click on MENU in the bottom right corner. Make that the "Show All Files" option is CHECKED. when it is, you should be able to view the MSMETADATA folder. Delete this file. Make sure at least 50mb are available for the file to be rewritten the next time you update your media library. I have to delete this folder often, so make sure you remember how to do it for future purposes.
