They are always coming out with new models, I saw one on gsmarena or another website that looks Cingularish, very similar with some improvements, nothing earth shattering.

I think they're trying to get rid of phones that still bear the Cingular logo. About 2 or 3 weeks ago, the price of the refurb 8125 dropped from $79.99 to $49.99. It sold out when it hit $49.99, and they've been sold out ever since. You'll notice that the names on the 8525s differ - the AT&T 8525 is new but the Cingular 8525 is refurbished. I assume when they clear out the Cingy ones, we might start to see AT&T-branded refurbs.

Also, the upcoming iPhone might have something to do with all the price drops. Every time I turn around there's some new AT&T TV commercial hawking that one phone or another is now cheaper. AT&T might be concerned that they'll be stuck with a bunch of phones as people buy the iPhone. It is a little weird that a ref...

Well, I'm sure they will get a rush for the iphone, but for the most part it is far too expensive for the vast majority of phone users.

Well for 99bux get it, if there's problem, drop down to you're local ATT store and return it.

I don't know if there are problems, if the problems were pre rom upgrades, if its a bad phone, if its some one who returned it because their wife jumped all over'em and they returned it for that reason. I happen to always check the refurbs from Apple and some other companies if they present a good deal.

I bought one a day or 2 before the price jumped back up to $199. I've had it for a couple of weeks. I haven't checked since then to see if they're still available. I'm frustrated with the ease (or lack thereof) of the phone capabilities. Windows is fine as a PDA, and I liked my old PDA. But I'm not sure I like the OS on a PDA that has some clunky phone features... One of my biggest gripes is having too many clicks/button presses to get to the number I want to dial. And I'm to lazy to set up the voice dial thingy. 🙄

If I felt that $600 was no big deal & I was liking the OS, I'd order the HTC Touch from Amazon (through J&R)... heh heh
