My ISP (isp.cingular)will not let you connect to the internet anymore after the ROM update. Any ideas? I've verified that all settings are correct. wap.cingular works. I have pda unliimited plan......

I've been reading all the post on the Cingular website.. Go to cingy and go under support and click devices and go to HTC 8525 forum.. From what I've read the new rom will only use MediaNet connections.. It seems as if alot of people are having problems with the new ROM.

I have updated my ROM and do not have this problem. I also have PDA connect with my 8525. It may be possible that something's wrong on Cingulars end. I would make sure the phone you have is the one their system thinks you have connected. That could cause some issues.

The new ROM is not the issue. Cingular/AT&T has changed how they implement their different access points (APNs). Going forward isp.cingular is reserved for use with aircards and tethering of phones for their wireless modem capabilities. wap.cingular will be used for all other data applications such as PDA Connect and MEdiaNet except for corporate customers that use custom APNs. I have an 8525 and use wap.cingular for everything with the proxy turned off and all works well including things like Cellular Video and XM Mobile. Even the new Internet Sharing from the ROM update works well with the wap.cingular APN with little or no discernible difference in speed from isp.cingular
