Changing Message/email alerts.

Has anyone found the subfolder that contains all the default alert tones, (not ringtones) i.e. - notifications, SMS alerts, Email alerts etc. I'd like to be able to change those alerts to user defined files, but I can't find the folder they're in. Usually, you can Copy/Paste any file to the folder, but I've explored all Windows folders, and can't find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you need to have all alert/notification tones in .wav, will not work in mp3 format. Only ringtones can be in .wav format. Then using file explorer, just drop the wav files you created(moving them onto phone via activesync) into the windows folder on your device.

ok you saved a wav file and moved it onto phone....now, on your ppc, go to that file and hold down on screen then when menu pops up, click copy, then explore your way to windows folder, open that up, then in a black area, hold down stylus on screen and when menu pops up, click paste and wav file should paste in windows folder. Then everything will work.

thx for the info guys it showed up on the list for me... now the only problem is when i hit the play button under sounds & notification screen where i choose which sound i wanna hear, nothing happens... I go to the folder where i saved the original file and opened it in windows media player, i get an error message cannot play back the audio stream. the audio format is not supported. the file i got from the internet was already in .wav format.... What could be the problem.

Thanks

Sharad
