I am new to WM5, and also to the PDA realm. My old phone was an old Nokia TDMA phone, and I finally jumped into the new millenium with the 8525. I don't know if I am missing something, or if there is a problem, but I have had the phone for about 3 days, and it seems to have a lot of potential. Unfortunately, all I can seem to find is the potential...the reality is not as impressive...yet.

Here are my questions/issues:

Haven't been able to get any video. In researching this, it appears that certain video features of this 3G phone are not supported yet. Do I truly have to wait until Cingular updates something before I can watch news and weather clips on my phone without subscribing to something?

if you arent familiar with howardforums.com then i highly recommend it. its where i learned everything about wm5 and found other useful sites.

http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1045062 »

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=254 »

and most apps for 8125 will work for 8525 since they are wm5 based.

i use wisbar advanced http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/
and handy taskswitcher http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp ?id=10982
for closing apps. As for IM's..I use Agile Messenger... http://www.agilemobile.com/

I think there are as many pros over here as we need, so I always will ask here before I spend too much time diving in where someone else may have already done so, and solved the problem before me.

Regarding the apps you mentioned, I have also seen them mentioned, however, I was hoping to find a less expensive way to do all of this. I know...being a cheapskate and owning this phone might be oxymoronic(?), ...

As far as finding programs, I just download them off of P2P software(limewire, e-mule++, etc.) Be careful if you are going to try that because, some contain viruses, and some just don't work. I also suggest you make a backup of the important things when installing these apps. I hope that helps.
PS. I'm thinking about upgrading from the 8125 to the 8525
