Sync Music - connect failure

Just retired my V710 for this V3M. Overall, I am happy with it. Contacts and calendar sync'd to outlook via bluetooth and MPT 4.2.1 no problem and I love the size and contact multi letter lookup.

However, I can't sync music to WMP via USB. I keep getting Connect Failure. My Device Manager finds the V3C and config's a USB modem. I have tried to load drivers that were linked in other posts, tried with the phone powered on, off and with and without the transflash installed. Does anyone actually have this working? What am I be doing wrong?

Had same issue & bought Motorola PhoneTools for backup of phone data & connection to WIN XP. Same connection issues. Motorola software vendor tech support advised that many phones, especially the RAZR, must be connected to a USB port on the backplane of the PC. Connections to ports on hubs, even on the fronts of PC towers, seems to interfere with the signal. Once the cable was connected to a USB port on the backplane and restarting WM10 a couple of times WM10 found the phone. Software from then on worked fine. PhoneTools had to be manually pointed to the Motorola USB modem and from then on worked OK. Only Contacts, Calendar & Backup work. Other features don't as Verizon has disabled the phone so as to only work with WM10 & their VCAST...

Just a sidebar-
A copilot of mine bought a 950 and couldn't get past the 'connect failure'. His laptop seemed to have only 2 ports, which I am guessing weren't on the backplane either, from the WINXP pop up comments. (blah blah blah you can use a usb 2.0 for higher speed..)
I went through virtually everything VERY thoroughly, and could not get past the same problem.
I suggested trying it on his home desktop.
His response was completely valid and reasonable.
"If I have to spend more than an hour or two, (already spent 5 hours) it's just not ready for prime time." And He's correct.
It was sold to him by Verizon over the phone as 'like an Ipod'.
Well, it should be just as simple as an Ipod. plug it in, and it SHOULD WORK. A lot o...

When you sync to outlook, what information appears for calendar appointments (subject line or other) and contact information (first, last, title, business name, etc)?

Anything from the "to do list"?

I'm with Sprint and considering this phone, the KRZR, or Moto Q.

Thanks,
