V3M Music via USB

I am not alone in finding it impossible to get the V3M to hook up via Windows Media Player 10.0. http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/verizon-wir eless-users/54510-razr-v3m-3.html has an entire group who have problems, with just one person getting it to work.

I am pretty computer sophisticated, so if I cannot do it there is definately a problem with Music Essetials deeper than poor instructions.

Anyone have a clue as to how to get WMP to recognize the V3M. Anyone have a clue why the Verizon software says the drivers are loaded, buyt Windows Device Drivers show not installed?

I haven't really started looking into this, but I suspect it has to do with the phone identifying itself as a v3c. For me, the problem is that the driver is not found, and it is very reasonable to think that the wrong identifier would cause this. I will post again if I can figure out what exactly the problem is.

I too had issues even getting it to show up in any type of program. windows found it but could not communicate with it, tried changing what COM port it was assigned to from device manager once windows found it as a Motorala USB modem, then tried changing the USB port it was plugged into and from there the USB data transfer/internet access worked.

I've been trying to use it with bitpim and it isn't working for tones or sms or playlists, but it works for contracts, wallpapers, and calendars.

Customer service at Verizon told me that there is a known problem with some of the Music Essentials Kits. Evidently there are a lot of kits that are marked incorrectly for the V3m phone. If the kit you received has black and silver earbuds it is the wrong kit (according to the Customer Service Rep.)! The kit that works with the V3m has BLUE earbuds. They're going to ship me the proper kit and call the Verizon store where I bought my phone to see how many of the incorrect kits they have in stock.
