Replying to: AMPs? by UofDVZW
I don't know, but Verizon did release the Samsung a870, which has AMPS. Motorola has seemed to focus on tri-mode phones more than Samsung has, which likes to focus more on all-digital phones. Tri-mode phones are primarily for people who travel out to rural areas a lot, where digital either lacks, or doesn't exist yet. But in the case of VZW, they have started to eliminate some analog SID's from their PRL. I doubt Alltel has though since they still have some areas that are analog. So you're more likely to find a tri-mode phone with Alltel than with Verizon. But who knows, Verizon might have Motorola remove analog from their version, and make it an all-digital phone. I forgot which phone it was that was tri-mode with Sprint, but the Verizon version had analog removed from the phone.
