How do you connect the cu500 to the laptop to use that to access the internet?

The link above is the most comprehensive list from cingular how to connect the CU 500. Select the type of connection you want, using Communications Manager or dial up and then the operating system.
It is imperative that you set the dial up networking type on the phone from Settings before attempting especially if you do automatic setup.

That is because you are not logged in. Try the following:
1. Login into "My Account" at
https://www.myaccount.cingular.com/ »
2. In the Phone/device area, click on "Support" (this is assuming that your account correctly shows the CU500 as your current device)
3. Under "Device Setup" click on "Connect device and laptop/PDA to access internet"
You should see a list of devices (PDAs, a Mac, laptops with different versions of Windows).
Chose your device, and follow the links...

Does anyone know how to transfer mp3's/pics from the phone to the computer and vice versa? I have bought a USB cable, and have a SanDisk 1GB microSD in the phone that works fine, but when I plug the USB in the computer recognizes the cable, but nothing happens on the phone and it doesn't recognize it at all. When I go to "My Computer" it doesn't show anything there to drag the files to like it did on my Sony. Let me know what I should do! Is there something I'm not doing???

Where did you get the USB cable from? For me the instructions on page 34-35 worked as described in the manual...

I don't know if I'm supposed to say, but I got it from cellphoneshop.net. Usually they have good stuff. It doesn't have the "box" in the middle either. My computer recognizes it as a USB cable. It just doesn't recognize the phone or chip at all. And the chip is good because I've used it with other phones before and it works fine, and the pics I had from other phones showed up just fine on the LG. So I know the chip is fine. Please let me know what I should do. What about this card reader that everyone is talking about? How does that work? I have the microSD...how would I be able to transfer stuff to my computer and vice versa with that? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks.

Since you didn't buy it from LG or Cingular, the cable is most likely the reason for your problem. You can buy a new cable, or a card reader, like this:

With the card reader, you'll need to take out the microSD card and insert it in the reader (probably using the SD adapter that comes with all microSD cards), and then you can move files to and from the card.

I went to Best Buy and bought a SanDisk card reader and it works GREAT! VERY fast transfer and is very convenient. Thanks for all the help!
Now, is there any stereo headphones for this phone??? On the Cingular site maybe? I bought an adapter for the headphones that I have from Radio Shack but I can only get sound out of one of the headphones....anyone experienced this???

You need to read more before you jump and start buying accessories. There is a headphones/USB cable bundle from Cingular that you could have bought instead of the card reader. For more information about stereo headphones and stereo jack adapters look here:
