"Card Not Ready"

I just put a 1GB PNY micro sd card into my cu500. The phone does not recognize that it is there and when I go to "Check Memory" in Settings the phone says "Card Not Ready." What does this mean, how can I fix it?

same problem with my 512 sandisk...

talked to LG, they had no excuse for it....what I do is this:

Engineering menu (277634#*#)
click port setting,
click mass storage
click mass storage remove
exit out completely

it should then be able to recognize your card.

You'll probably have to do this every time you turn on/off the phone, or take out the battery, clearly.

Hope that helps!

Hi, can you tell me the steps to get to the engineering menu and the port setting? Thanks.

I get the "c-n-r" message every so often when checking music files. If I try to play a song, phone displays "file not found".

If you go to options, choose "refresh" and any stored files on the card will become readable.

Hope this helps.

Im having the same problem with my cu500, I tried this solution, but am still having the problem, although it occured to me that it might be the fact that the phone cant handle a 2gb transflash card, can anyone back that up, im currently searching and cant find a listing anywhere saying what sizes this phone supports. Thanks.

I've tried this and it works for about 10 seconds. I can see that the card is readable but when I try to go back inthe the memory card it tells me "card not ready". I've only gotten this on gig and 2 gig cards. All the 512 ScanDisk cards I've tried worked with no problem.

Can anyone else shed some light on this for us?
