This phone is going to be the truth. I am not the biggest fan of LG. However, I am a fan of how they have been out of the gate first lately utilizing new Cingular services. The were the first launch a PTT phone, UMTS phone, and now it's time for HSDPA. Nice work LG.

i hated LG until I used the LG CU320. it is actually a nice phone. the LG CU400should be nice too,PTT and 3G. I went to a meeting at LG and they wouldnt tell us anything about it except that it was PTT and 3G and it would be here around 1st quarter 07' so i guess i'll be waiting for a while ☹️

Look closely.... The screen is not that great and camera is average. Kind of giving the impression of not that spectacular of a pone. Other then the HSDPA of course.

I thought the screen was pretty good. We got some in yesterday and I've played with it for a while. I think I'm going to buy it. I like it a lot.

The screen is better than the one on the CU320. Battery life is also much improved over it as well.

Well, judging by the price, this isnt even a high end phone, so missing a couple things is no big deal.

How can you have a camera with no flash? Crap is not worth a thing after dark.

to be honest, the flash hasn't been a big factor. I had the Cingular HT8125 phone that had a flash, and it didn't help a whole lot. The camera on the cu500 isn't bad, but isn't great. To be honest it was on par with the D807, Cu320 and the 8125 (All phones I have owned in the past few months). The only decent camera I've seen was on the LG U400 (Which I managed to play with over in London) That is a 2 megapixel camera, so it should be better by default.

I have never seen a flash on a camera phone help at all. coming from a w600i, which had flash, i can tell you it was much better used as a flash light.

First off. HSDPA is not available anywhere in the US. It could be considered a moot point.Secondly it's still an lg, which means lousey reception. My regional manager had a cu320 for two weeks and reported it to be a completely useless phone. In fact he dropped 17 calls in one day in areas where the phone should have had UMTS coverage. These UMTS phones no matter manufacturer have deffinite problems in non UMTS areas as well. They will hold a UMTS signal all the way down to no service before switching to GSM. I believe that the UMTS launch was a little premature. They should not even be offering the handsets untill the coverage is at least 20% of the network. It is (to my knowledge) not even 10% yet. HSDPA is absolutely pointless. Yeah its g...

Actually you are dead wrong. HSDPA IS available in all of their UMTS markets.

Also, UMTS and HSDPA use a CDMA data chipset in the phone, so it has nothing to do with the voice quality of a handset. The voice side is still GSM while data UMTS/HSDPA is CDMA. So there is no waiting until you leave HSDPA to switch to GPRS on the voice side. They work side by side, not one over the other. This is why with UMTS, you can make a call and surf the web at the same time. 2 different chipsets.

If your regional manager dropped a lot of calls, chances are his phone was messed up. In my market, the CU320 was sold out on a daily basis. Cingular stores could not keep this handset in stock. Not only was it a big seller, but is was also never...

why don't you try what you are talking about. First off the cu 320 is not the cu500. Second I have a VZW e815 and get the same dead spots and the exact same bars on the LG as the Moto. I have never been a fan of LG. they always come back and seem to have crappy reception. But this phone is an exception. We normally get at the stores the cg 2000, of the cg300, both are crap and don't hold a signal. This isn't even super high end but rocks over both the models I mentioned earlier. Stop basing fact on another model that you're regional manager had. Do the hands on research you're self before you start discrediting anything

I especially loved it when LG released its first Cingular handsets like the C1300/G4015, G4050, and G4010/4011. Whoo!

Oh, wait...they were horrible.
