Front Display Questions
Hey all,
I'm looking for a new phone (i currently have the lg vx-8000) and am very interested in this samsung.
Just a couple quick questions; can you change clock on the front display to actual numbers? I think the clock would annoy me to no end. Also, if you set a picture to a contact, will the picture appear on the front display?

(also, if anyone knows... will there be a price drop for the phone anytime soon? It currently would cost me $350 and i'm not sure if it's worth it)

There are two options for the front clock, digital and analog.
As far as the picture contact, yes it will display in the front.
For the price drop....I am not sure. I saw a few places online that had it adervtised for $250 with rebates, but I also believe that is with signing a new 2 year contract.

Buying from Amazon and other places with rebates isn't one of my options, so i guess only time will tell

Yeah i really liked this phone paper too, it does everything i ever wanted, however it doesnt do any of those things very well. For example, the pics are great! if you can get your subject to stand still for 3 secs for the auto focus to work. Taking pix of my dog playing proved very difficult. Or if you want to look at your pics and flix you gotta wait forever to load all the thumbnails on the page and when you scroll though them you have to wait again to load the next page of pix/flix thumbnails. Battery life IS NOWERE NEAR FOURS HOURS OF TALK TIME. I was so excited about this phone but when i got it i was really disappointed, hopefully you have a better experience with it but this was mine.

your battery life isn't up to 4 hours? did you charge it all the way up before using your phone?
if it isn't that great, get it replaced because i usually get 4 hours. less if i take pictures. but texting and other stuff does not cause much of a drain on battery life.

yeah i charged it all the way when i first got it, perhaps i just got a dud battery?

I didn't like the auto focus feature so I turned it off. I have way more success with photos now! Just a suggestion.
As far as the tumbnails loading....yeah, it takes forever.
For your battery life, do you have the settings to have the keypad light and backlight always on? Cause when you talk a lot and the lights stay on, it really drains the battery. I like having them on so I set my settings to that and notcied the battery drain quicker. But I picked up a car charger for a good price, so battery life isn't a problem anymore.
