Sorry for the newbie question, but do you HAVE to use the Music Essentials kit software and cable to transfer music to the phone? I tried clicking and dragging WMAs into my songs folder on the phone..but it kept saying it could not play. If I cant transfer my existing music to the phone, I might as well not have it. Thanks

I recently had some trouble transferring music to my LG Chocolate.

First of all I re-formatted the MicroSD card in the phone. Settings-memory-card-options-format. Lock code is usually last 4 digits of cell number. This will erase ALL items from the card.

Then to re-load my card with music I had to do it in 2 steps.

1. If the music you are trying to load is ripped from a CD, then use Windows Media Player 10 and the Micro SD card with the adapter for the card reader.

Select the songs you want to Sync, then simply press the Sync button. Some songs need to be converted which is done automatically. They will be put directly onto the card. Open the card to make sure the songs are in the music folder. If not, put them there.

I had the same problem, what I found was the easeiest to do is to copy the songs to a cd and then move it to Windows Media Player which will automatcally convert it to WMA format, then I put my card into my computer and drug the new songs over to the sync side and told it to sync and it worked.
