A990's Pricing

I am eagerily waiting to get this phone at the end of August when I am eligible. However, my previous phone the v710 (which was replaced with E815), was very expensive when I first purchased it, but came down in price. I was wondering what time frame Verizon will have before they drop this phone's price. It seems that with the new Chocolate and motorola razr remake, it should bring the price down. Any ideas? Thanks.

Well, noone knows that for sure until it happens, but considering the 970 stayed high from the time it was released until just recently, and this is it's replacement, I wouldn't guess anytime soon.

I'd say it would be a good year before the price starts dropping. It's samsung's flagship. When are flagship phones ever cheap witin thier first year on the market? By that time, they're no longer the flagship

Let us not get worked up about the price. Whenever something is released in the market for the first time, it is usually priced higher than what we really want to pay for. To add, I believe the A990 (correct me if I am wrong) is the first 3.2 Megapixel Camera Phone from the States. When it is the first of something, it will reflect in the price.

The good news is everything drops in price as time passes. At certain times of the season, items go on promotion. Other authorized Verizon Wireless retailers will attempt to compete with the actual Verizon Wireless store. That being said, I have come across a price of $249.99 (...
