want a real tone for my phone!

Can anyone help me? My husband and I recently got these 5300s, and while we like the phone, the ringtone options are terrible! This is one of the only phones that doesn't support the Verizon Tunes and Tones thing, so we can't get real tones that way. I was going to purchase a song through Sony Musicbox, until I discovered it will cost at least $4 for just 1 ringtone!

I tried accessing the mobile17 thing, where you can upload an mp3 for a ringtone ... but it doesn't support this phone, either.

Are there any phone-savy people out there who can help us get a REAL tone on our phones (not the cheesy polyphonic kind!) for less than $4 a pop?? I was recommended to this site/forum by a Verizon employee, which was cool - I hope it's helpful.

With bitpim, you can indeed create ringtones for this phone. With a little finnagleing I got the tone onto the phone and was able to play it on my phone, just as with my former VX-6100. I set the ringer to the tone, but it rings with the stupid 'on the roof' song no matter what. I've tried all kinds of things, but I guess I just need to wait until the phone is officially supported.

Well, gosh, it would be helpful if you explained how I could access the VZW Tunes and Tones from the 5300, instead of just posting your short comment. When we purchased the phones, I talked to Verizon customer service and learned that they didn't support that feature. But perhaps it's been updated and I'm unaware? All I know is currently when I go to the "Get it Now" feature on my phone, VZW Tunes and Tones is not available on my list.

So ... if it is true that the 5300 now supports this, I'd love to know how to get to it on my phone. Perhaps you could be helpful in this regard?
