Also as a side note. The connector for the VX-5300 (and VX-8300 I suspect) is the same as the VX-4650, VX-3300, VX-5200 except with only 2 "raised sections" on the outer edges. If you file off the middle bump off the older cables they work fine. I took a VX-4650 cable and did that with a dremmel tool to hook to the VX-5300. Plan to get Bluetooth dongle and link that way. The newer cables are backward compatible to the older phones since the older have receptors for 3 bumps and the connectors have just the outside 2. I use the VX-5300 charger now for a VX-3300, VX-4650, and VX-5300. I may modify some older style car chargers if need be. I did have to get one newer car charger for a third car.
Smart people. I hear Verizon wants the vendors to change yearly or so so that more accessories are sold. They kept the connectors the same with pinout/size, just removed the middle bump to make the old ones not work, but the new ones work with old phones so they only have to sell one version of the accessories for all phones now.
