5300 and bitpim

Aug 24, 2006, 2:40 AM
Just in case anybody was curious I was able to add ringtones onto my little brother's 5300 using the 8300 settings in bitpim. I would reccomend adjusting the (db) level to 2.0, the first batch of tones I did for him weren't loud enough. - adios

Thanks Lost_boy.
I tried this but didn't work for me! Sad
What settings and cable did you use?
I tried 'Other CDMA' and Filesystem as well but couldn't connect.
Maybe my cable or driver?? - anyone know how I can tell? Shows up as 3 devices in WinXP Device Manager, just like the 5200 does.
My cable & BitPIM work great with my wife's 5200.
I have a straight USB cable for the 5200/6100/7000 with the middle bump filed off so it fits the 5300.

sorry about the crazy late reply, I actually connected the 5300 via bluetooth, I bought a dongle for like 20 bucks at frys, its payed it self back like 100 times. It saves you the hassle of having to find drivers, companies changing cables ect

I can connect the phone to the PC and transfer Business Cards, but cannot recognize the phone in BitPim. How did you set that up? Thanks!
