Yeah Helio is an MNVO off of sprint's network i think

if this phone is CDMA.. couldn't it be used on a sprint network?

would this be true with any cdma phone?...

NO, unless the phone is unlocked. Each CDMA carrier locks their networks to non-carrier-specific ESNs (if you want to use a CDMA phone on VZW, it must have a VZW-specific ESN).

so if i got a verizon phone.. unlocked it.. could i use it on a sprint network?.. especially with their evdo power vision network?.. or do i have to wait till sprint comes out with newer cdma evdo phones on their own network?.. i hate my a900

No. Verizon phones are generally unlocked, but Sprint won't activate a non-Sprint phone. Their activation system is tied to an automated database of all Sprint phone ESNs, which lets them enforce this quite effectively.

No, especially NOT with Power Vision. Even if there were some way to activate a Verizon phone on Sprint, only basic voice service would work. All of the advanced features like Power Vision use different, incompatible connection methods and/or technologies.

...and just to bring this back on topic, the same is true for Helio. They're using yet another set of advanced service technologies that is different from both Sprint and Verizon.
