Just picked the phone few hours ago for my wife. Looks and feels pretty nice for the price and base phone class (Tri mode, VGA cam, BT, speakerphone, no MP3s or other thrils).

Looks classy with silver and black insert on the outside and black inside. That's what sold my wife that it doesn't look generic cheap silver. Both screens, especially main one, are pretty nice and better than LG VX-5300 we also contemplated.

Thin, light and absense of anthena really adds to looks. Wife with her nails also liked generous button spacing and feel.

Reception, despite intrenal anthena, seems no worse than my Treo 650 and her pior LG VX-4200. At least in most places this phone beein so far, including, 35th floor of my Manhattan office skyscrapper. ...

Preloaded ringtones suck big time. There's something called VibeTonz which I have no clue what it is. I'll have to figure out how to upload some decent ringtones.

Ringtone and speakerphone volume is pretty soft but tolerable. Headset volume is ok and on par with other Samsungs (e.g. A530) that I had which all are softer than LGs.

BT pairing with my Moto HS-850 headphone went smoothly. BT sound and reception are decent and far better than my Treo 650.

Unlike most Motorolas I tried in the shop standard VZW menus are fast and responsive.

Again so far seems like a typical Samsung VZW fare with all its pluses and minuses. Which isn't bad thing at all fro the basic phone.

I had VibeTonz on a Samsung 330...what it does is the phone will "vibrate" to the beat of the tune selected when the phone ring's. The only thing with my 330 is that the VibeTonz only worked when the ring volume was at the MAX. 🤨 😡 Kind of wished it worked when it was at lower volume. ☹️ One of the ring tone services "MidiRingTones" had some VibeTonz ringtones you could download. But again, only VibeToned and ringed at full volume. The VibeTonz I believe should also work with downloaded games...but not sure.

I'm not home but in Atlanta now for the next couple of days and it doesn't matter where I go I can't get it to budge off of 4 bars. So, at least in this part of the woods the reception is the best I've ever seen on any phone. It's not, however like that at home in NJ where it seems to fluctuate between 2 and 3. That doesn't seem to cause any problems with clarity, volume or lost calls though.

So far the calls I have made are clear on both ends.
