Question about Sanyo 3100

I'm considering buying a sanyo 3100 and i need to know this-

If ure in the middle of typing a txt and you receive a new message does it quit the txt and go into the new message automatically or does it let u finish writing ure txt and let u open it when u want?

i've a friend that texts a lot faster than i do and her texts often came through while i was still in the middle of my replies. i simply hit the back button and it took me back to the message.
