Ok, I'll answer my own question, in case fellow Mac users run into the same problem..
To send games to the phone, you can't use the drag-and-drop interface. However, if you close the file exchange and choose "Send File" from the Bluetooth menu (icon in the menubar) you'll be prompted to save and install the file on your phone.
Thanks to vacumatic over in the Razr V3 forum who got me thinking on the right track.
This was my last and final issue - I'm now 100% happy with this phone. (=
BTW: for any Mac users wanting to Sync with iSync before Apple gets around to updating it, read here:
